About this deal

She is a single mother who is chaotic apart from work. She is Liz’s best friend and business partner of Andrew. She holds many secrets, is a huge secret about to be revealed? She is also contemplating an indecent proposal…. Leah finds the fake Valerie at a work event with Adam. The wig and glasses are gone, and her name is Cathy. Cathy is a dental hygenist who is DATING Adam. Leah punches Cathy in the face, assaults a police officer, and runs off like a total badass. Leah calls her lawyer, who tells her that an arrest warrant is out for Leah. The boys and I are the first to leave with Andrew’s parents following behind, his mother wailing and clinging to her husband who has aged ten years in the last three months. Mourners – family, friends, colleagues, red-eyed but offering supportive smiles - reach out from the end of almost every row. There are three serious men and a woman who I think are work associates. A dark-haired young woman I don’t recognise sits in the final row, stifling tears, rummaging in her bag for a tissue. All of the actors played their roles believably, and the script covered a lot of ground. I didn't notice any gaping plot holes...which any Lifetime frequent watcher knows is almost never the case. I did think it was strange that Leah and Adam didn't fight over their kid, but for some reason she had to hide her work trip from him. It didn't make sense to me that Emma couldn't stay with Adam and perhaps in their situation, a nanny would work full-time for both homes anyway. I think it was meant to infer Leah perceived he would pounce on any chance to pursue custody, and to of course set up this movie, but it was a little murky to understand. When they explained the divorce, it really just sounded like stubbornness on both of their parts. Anyway, after Adam's initial disbelief at the situation, I liked that he didn't believe Leah to be capable of that which she was accused. I liked how he realized immediately when Valerie/Lisa lied and he was on board with his wife from that point. There was so much happening already that keeping them at odds was unnecessary drama, particularly since it was their daughter and they were both manipulated. If the movie had more time, it would be interesting to see if over the course of his relationship with Lisa whether or not things with Leah deteriorated. I also liked that they clarified he met Lisa after the divorce. Lifetime likes to make men cheaters, and there was enough going on w/o that. Oluwatoyin in her testimony said, “My husband threw me and our children out last year after he almost sent me to an early grave by constantly beating me.

Mom does her Richard Kimble thing and somehow moves all around the town after assaulting a cop AND at gunpoint takes another one hostage. Hmm, an APB would have been handy here dontcha think? My butt would have been discovered and arrested within a few hours in real life. But nope, the mom is able to just break in to anyone's house, threaten people, assault whoever, and still remain at large. Unrealistic. This book although compelling, for me the characters were all unlikeable. They all fly off to the Amalfie coast to stay with Staffie and Todd. So yeah, 2021's My Husband's Killer Girlfriend is my latest write-up. It's about a nanny who frames a woman for leaving her small daughter unattended. And yup, the pseudo nanny just happens to be the lady friend of the woman's ex-hubby. Basically it takes about twenty minutes (and a misplaced edit) before you realize that My Husband's Killer Girlfriend means just what it means. A whodunnit in an exotic location with many red herrings, a glamorous cast, much drama and a clever, misleading plot. The premise is that she leaves her kid for three days with a nanny. Only the nanny is (insert title here) and from that point onwards nobody cares about the plot device, it's just the world against Karen and she must fight them all to prove how amazing she is. So what if she physically assaults random people and a cop, so what if she breaks in to another person's house.

This book felt like friendship school drama poured and moulded into the real life drama mixed with friend holiday drama. This lowkey feels like the typical holiday drama meets death kinda book. Liz herself was a likeable enough character, which certainly can't be said for all the rest of the group - one is particularly loathsome. I did feel for her, not only navigating the aftermath of her husband's presumed death but also dealing with revelations which call into question whether he really was the man she always thought him to be. While on holiday things bubble and one of the party ends up dead. His widow is convinced he was having an affair before he died and that it was with one of her friends. The truth is even more bizarre!

Yes.’ I watch Josh racing up the pitch as Milo runs for the ball. ‘I worry they’re coping too well on the outside – that they’re not telling me how they really feel.’ Cindy Busbyis so fun to watch on Lifetime. I love her Hallmark work, but she really has a good time in these Lifetime movies. The movie does nothing to shift you to her side which is impressive consider "a mother scared for her child" is the easiest sell in the world. Here though the child doesn't matter. Just Karen does and her indignation. The detective interviews Cathy and Adam. She takes a particular interest in Cathy and asks about her past. Adam notices some discrepancies in what she tells the police and what she has told him previously. Like how she was a foster kid. Cathy downplays her lies and cries when Adam confronts her. They have more sex, and Cathy asks to adopt Emma and get married. When Adam hesitates, Cathy pops off and angrily storms off. Of course you’re not,’ Owen says. ‘How could you be? None of us are. But it’s a million times worse for you.’

Your daughter is in great hands". Oh boy oh boy, cray cray femme alert. It's been thirty years and over 1000 pics. Lifetime wouldn't have it any other way. I loved the setting of the Amalfi Coast. Laura Marshall captures the beauty of the setting well, but she also creates a sense of menace. I got the feeling that there was something more going on here behind the scenes, especially as Laura Marshall reveals her character’s true colours. And there are some nasty character’s in this book. The main character who loves her husband and family and thinks they have no secrets. She also comes across a touch naive in the way she trusts everyone around her. The set-up to this book was very engaging. I wanted to know what was going on in Andrew and Liz’s lives before Andrew’s death. As Laura Marshall begins to reveal what happened, she introduces the rest of her cast, Liz and Andrew’s friends, who were on holiday with them in Italy. There was no one in the group who I particularly warmed to, as I was reading this book. They were all fleshed out well and there were some intense scenes between them, making this book really engaging. I wanted to know more about what was going on in their private lives, and if there was any more to Andrew’s death than what first meets the eye.

Mm hmm.’ I press my lips together to keep the words inside. I want so badly to share with someone what I found this morning. Would it be wrong to do it here, now? Owen was Andrew’s best friend. If there was something going on, there’s a chance he knows about it. Andrew let his guard down around Owen. Once, years ago, drunk and uncertain of Andrew following an argument at a party, I’d asked Owen if he thought Andrew really loved me. Owen said he knew he did, and then asked me if I loved him. It's well written and well plotted and I certainly didn't see the ending coming - although the very end might have been a twist too far for me.After going through some Chinese dark web internet technology they are able to not just identify the crazy girlfriend but also CALL and get info from her psychiatrist? And he talks to this stranger about.a patient? Hmm. I would have told the psych to immediately call the local authorities to tell them about the killer's real identity. Problem solved. But no.... A silence descends in which they regard me anxiously. They’ll put it down to grief, but I know I’m being short with them and until this morning I would have said they don’t deserve it. Along with Poppy, these women dropped everything to support me today, and over these last terrible three months. They came to the registrar with me when, having finally received confirmation of presumption of death, I went to register Andrew’s death, unable to deal with it alone. They sat with me at the meeting with the vicar, helping me plan the service, knowing what I wanted without having to ask. They set up the projector for the montage of photos of Andrew I spent hours putting together as I wept uncontrollably at his innocent childhood face. But one of them has ruined everything. Todd is an an improbably good-looking, rich American with whom it transpired she’d been having an affair for some time, a betrayal of his best friend that Andrew – and I, if I’m honest - have struggled to come to terms with. Arriving on the Amalfi Coast for a weekend of fun in a luxury villa, seven people become embroiled in secrets, lies, betrayal, revenge and chaos before ultimately someone is murdered.
