You also get weekly support from other Slimming World members, not to mention you'll make new friends. Foods on the Slimming World diet have a value of Syns, and you can have a certain number of these Syns a day. This is usually between 5 and 15 if you're following what's called the Extra Easy Plan. Unlike wlr, you are restricted in what you eat, in the sense that you follow certain plans provided for you. This could limit your flexibility on the plan, especially if the diets don’t suit you. As a newcomer to the plan, the diet seems very complicated and incredibly daunting. You need to spend time working out exactly what you can eat freely and get to grips with the Extra Easy, Green and Original choices, together with the Healthy Extras and Syns. No, unfortunately, whilst pineapple is free, it is not classed as a speed food. What are free foods on Slimming World?

The basic amount that most Slimming World consultants will tell Slimming World members for ease is 15 syns a day. We spoke to Slimming World’s public health manager, Carolyn Pallister, to get the lowdown on the diet including: Until recently, members were allowed between 5 and 15 Syns a day (of course, you can skip them completely if you don't want any). However, this has now been reduced if you're following the Extra Easy SP plan: Pretty much all fresh and frozen fruit is free. Cooked, canned and dried fruit are categorised under Healthy Extras and puree fruit, any fruit juices or smoothies are classed as Syns. I recently reviewed another great product you can read about here! Basic Concept Getting Your Head Around ItDried pasta is free. Fresh pasta contains a syn value due to the additional oils it contains which help keep it moist! Other Grains The Slimming World books are available for online Slimming World members as well as those in groups. At Slimming World groups, you get certificates, too, as there are so many awards you can obtain before you achieve your dream weight. These are such great motivations for your journey. Carolyn explains, 'These are filling foods and you can eat them quite freely and still manage your weight. The freedom that this gives a slimmer is brilliant.

Target – When you reach your choice of weight loss target, obviously this is also part of the online plan! So Syns are the stroke of genius in the Food Optimising plan, enabling you to enjoy higher energy dense foods (those foods that may not be great for helping you feel full or for your weight loss) in controlled amounts and without a shred of guilt. Because the focus is on eating mainly lower-calorie foods, Slimming World claims that its Food Optimising diet lets you eat as much 'free food' as you like. Free foods include dried rice, pasta, noodles and grains such as couscous and quinoa. Free foods generally will bulk up your meals and keep you full, so remember them when making your food choices. However, whilst I support the concept of limiting fatty and sugary foods, I do think using the term Syns has a negative meaning within a plan that is otherwise very positive. For example, a choice is 142g baked beans, 100g cooked wholewheat pasta or a 227g baking potato (raw weight). Syns as always, are added to this. Isn’t This a Version of Food Combining? To further boost their weight loss, members following the Extra Easy SP plan will be advised to enjoy a maximum of 10 Syns per day,' explains Slimming World.
