The ECO Master is a 50 disc, fully automatic disc repair system for CDs, DVDs, Books on Disc, Blu-ray, and even the latest game discs. This is easier said than done but there are ways you can limit the amount of grime that ends up clogging up the grooves on your records. For starters, handle your records with care. Never touch the grooves, instead hold the record at its edges. If you do get any finger prints or dirt on the playing surface, wipe away gently with a soft, clean cloth. By most reports it will handle most light scratches quite effectively and in conjunction with good disc reading software will probably get you out of trouble on most occasions. Like New: The Disc-Go-Devil grinding machine removes a very thin (1/1000th of a millimetre) layer and polishes your disc to a 'like new' finish!

What emerged is that there are roughly three levels of disc repair machines, cheap, a little pricey… and whoa! That’s expensive! For instructions on how to do that go here to Cleaning or Repairing Scratched DVDs, CDs or Game Discs. Disc Repair Machines #1 JFJ One-Step Eyecon Video Game, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray Repair Machine However there are times when it may be necessary for you to repair the surface of the disc before you can access the data. Most scratch-damaged discs can be repaired; but discs suffering other types of damage or excessive scratching can't be. Vaseline, or petroleum jelly, can be used to fill in scratches on CDs. The idea is that the jelly fills in the scratches, making the CD readable again. Other methods, such as using bananas or toothpaste, can also be effective for fixing old CDs. 4. How do you resurface a disc without a resurfacer?

Storing your vinyl properly is another way to keep the grime at bay for longer. When I'm not playing a record I keep it in a dust cover inside its sleeve and store it in a built-for-purpose vinyl storage unit that's in a cool dry place and away from direct sunlight. Excessive scratching: Scratches too deep or numerous may affect the ability to repair it. Typically however, 94% of discs can be repaired.

Foil Damage: Damage on the label side of the disc. If you can see light all the way through, the disc is likely unrepairable. All the manufacturers of these machines openly admit there is just so much machines like these can achieve depending on how severe the scratching is.

500 Minute Consumable Pack

I tried the repair pads again on a different disc and it came out with the circular marks. I did play this disc and it did play without a problem for the few minutes I had it on. I didn't reach out to tech support as they are pretty blunt and honest with their description of the item. The other thing that bothered me with it, was the sound it makes when it's doing the buffering/repair/cleaning cycle, it literally sounds like it's dying. And one final note (Really!) is that if the damage is minimal and you are only dealing with one or a few discs then possibly you can do this by hand. Another important factor to consider when choosing a disc repair kit is its repair capabilities. Some kits are only designed to repair minor scratches, while others are capable of repairing more significant damage. If you have a lot of discs with deep scratches or other significant damage, you will likely want to opt for a kit with a higher repair capability. On the other hand, if you only have a few minor scratches to repair, a kit with a lower repair capability may be sufficient. Ease of Use

I always try to recover the data from the disc first without getting into interfering with the surface of the disc. OK the whole “known to mankind” part of that sentence may not be true but by the time I finished it sure felt like it! NO HEAT...NO ODOR - The liquid cooled repair process means no heat or damage to the disc. Other brands use heat from a high-speed buffing process to repair the disc. The problem is, heat can damage a disc by warping it. Heat also produces odor. Do you really want your library to smell of melted plastic? And this is a good tip generally: store your vinyl upright when it's not in use to prevent warping. How we choose the best vinyl record cleaners

Save Money Without Losing Quality...

I wouldn't advise using any old cleaning fluid though - only use liquid that'll treat your vinyl collection with kindness, not a heavy-duty solution which could damage your records. And speaking of cleaning fluid, if you're not careful you could easily spill some on the label. To avoid such misery, I recommend you buy a label protector – they're cheap and easy to put on/take off. Some products, including the Boundless Audio Record Cleaning Kit featured in this guide, come with one included. How can I stop my records getting dirty

NO MESS - Do you really want your staff subjected to the mess the other brands make. ECO Brand Disc Repair Systems are the cleanest repair process available. Try the others, then compare. Just make sure you bring a change of clothes when trying the others. Yes, it is possible to resurface a disc at home using various methods. Store-bought scratch-fillers are available for this purpose, but you can also try using household items like peanut oil or baking soda to fill in small surface scratches. 2. Why does toothpaste fix discs? Toothpaste works as a mild polish on optical discs. It is believed that polishing the disc with toothpaste removes a thin layer of plastic, fills in the scratch areas, and makes the scratched disc readable again. 3. How does Vaseline remove scratches from CDs?

3,000 Effortless Cleans per Pack

I guess the real choice would have to be a personal decision as to what kind of investment you want to make to recover your damaged discs and how often you would use one of these machines.
