While this is the definitive Star Wars box set (at least for now), there are a few minor disappointments. I for one, would have liked to have seen included the original theatrical releases for episodes IV-VI without the copious CGI elements. Even though there are lots of extra features on this box set, I would have liked material that had been previously released on DVD to have been included on this set, such as the hour long making of featurette originally released on The Phantom Menace DVD. As such, these omissions prevent this from feeling like a truly complete set, but certainly the best we've seen so far. Young farm boy Luke Skywalker is thrust into a galaxy of adventure when he intercepts a distress call from the captive Princess Leia. The event launches him on a daring mission to rescue her from the clutches of Darth Vader and the Evil Empire. A New Hope stars the iconic character of Luke Skywalker (portrayed by Mark Hamill). Following the death of his aunt and uncle at the hands of the Galactic Empire and their army of stormtroopers, Ben Kenobi (Alec Guinness) trains the young moisture farmer in the ways of Force. Aside from the incredible movies, we also get three discs of bonus material. These are a mix of new and contemporary interviews, conceptual artwork, SFX features and loads more. One of the highlights for me was a couple of deleted scenes which have never been available before, most notably Luke Skywalker's original introduction in Return of the Jedi where he, C3PO and R2D2 prepare for Han Solos rescue mission. As a fan, I had heard of this scene before, but never imagined I'd ever get to see it. This for me was the icing on the cake. Another highlight for me was a lengthy feature containing some of the very best Star Wars spoofs, some fan made and some professional. Over a ninety minute period we get classic parodies from the likes of Family Guy, Saturday Night Live, The Muppets and many, many more.

Second chapter of George's 'Star Wars' Trilogy finds Luke Skywalker training to be a Jedi Knight and Han Solo and Princess Leia eluding Darth Vader.

What Are You Waiting For, Laserbrain? What we have here are the special editions of each movie, complete with extra/extended scenes from some of the theatrical releases and extra CGI effects particularly for episodes IV-VI. Some of these films differ from their previous outings on DVD. Most notably, the puppet Yoda from The Phantom Menace has been replaced with a CGI version, as was the original intention of George Lucas at the time. It looks also as if some of the CGI aspects have been refined and updated. The 4K disc of The Last Jedi is newly authored—it no longer includes Dolby Vision HDR (per Disney’s new norm). All of the Blu-rays in the set are newly-authored discs—they are not the same as those released previously. The Last Jedi movie Blu-ray now includes the Score-only version of the film and its Bonus Blu-ray now includes the Meet the Porgs retail exclusive featurette. Most (but not quite all) of the previous Blu-ray special features are included in this set. Most of the previous DVD special features are not included—and of course, the original unaltered theatrical cuts of Star Wars, Empire, and Jedi are not included.
