As a fan of Wranglestone, I expected to enjoy Timberdark and I definitely did. I did, at times find myself slightly confused with the plotline, which wasn't hugely concerning as I am sure the author intended to confuse! Eventually, it did all make sense, but for that reason, I can't give the book 5 stars as I spent a lot of it getting myself in a muddle. Durable, strong, resistant to decay and insect damage, high oil content protects against moisture, unique color, and grain patterns, easy to work with and finish.

As a left-wing, anti-capitalist person this book was right up my street, I found myself highlighting passages that I agreed with incredibly often. After all, when we have nothing but the land and nature, modern society really doesn't make much sense. This book challenges the work-driven prisons we have created for ourselves when we could experience so much more. If it’s treated (radiata) pine, then the treatments will assist in keeping the timber from grey weathering. As I stated in this post, grey weathering is a type mould that grows after the UV from the sun breaks down the lignin in the timber into simple sugars. The mould feeds off those simple sugars. But the primary treatments are also toxic for the mould, as well as fungal decay. In this case then you can use either Radial Timber Sealer or Exterior Pine Clear. Neither products have a pigment, but as a result, neither have any UV protection either. So this solution is only valid if your weatherboards are treated softwoods as per AS 1604. I think the book was trying to show us that the world as it is now is very bad and the true way of life is living off the land, but it didn't manage to portray this in a way I could understand. It's idea was to show a monotony of life under capitalism, but to a reader that's happy at home right now with their laptop and books, I also felt like a day to day of gardening and I don't know, sitting on a boat fishing also seemed monotonous. And that's the problem I had with this story, the miscommunication trope is one of my least favourites, and I felt that had they just sat down and actually talked about their feelings, this tension could have been solved in under an hour, instead of me having to sit through the teeth clenchingly awkward scene of Peter following Cooper into the woods and watching him masturbate. Darren Charlton has done it again!! Timberdark is beautifully written and such wonderful descriptions and I can honestly see myself in the book alongside the characters. Otherwise, you will have to use Aussie Clear or Aussie Clear light to prevent UV weathering. But these are pigmented with a “transparent” pigment rather than the “opaque” pigments used in stains. These “transparent” pigments are the only effective UV protection which will drastically slow down the UV weathering process. Aussie Clear Light as the name suggests, is suitable for light coloured timbers. It will approximate wet straw. The Western style is something I really loved about this too, it's just blended so well with the rest of the setup, giving it a real charm of its own.

UV Weathering is the most difficult to control, while keeping the wood looking natural. Using a properly formulated and lightly pigmented product like Aussie Clear or Aussie Coat. They will slow the weathering process down over time, but won’t completely stop it. So you need to regularly maintain them over time. Think of it like sunscreen if you’re out in the sun. You have reapply throughout the day to prevent you getting badly burnt, but it won’t completely stop it. Whilst not so much a species but a style, we couldn’t help but mention charred wood. It’s hot at the moment; cladding in this style creates a highly impactful, eye-catching option to furnish any interior or exterior space. Its color is compatible with a variety of interior styles, from traditional to modern, and can be paired with different textures, colors, and patterns to create a harmonious and balanced look.Some varieties of walnut wood, such as Claro walnut, can also have a range of stunning figure patterns, including burls, crotches, and curly grain.
