Description

Tame a monster or two and add some spice to the battlefield with ferocious fauna – the Chaotic Beasts, Fomoroid Crusher, Mindstealer Sphiranx, and Ogroid Myrmidon are all being re-released. As a Nighthaunt player myself I personally don’t need anything in this box because I have everything here already — but if I was looking to start a new army this battleforce would certainly have me on my way and I’d be excited about it.

White Dwarf issues 320 and 321 get added to the Warhammer Vault this week – perfect reading with a hot beverage. kits are not as idiot-proof as the push-fit miniatures and are assembled with glue, which allows for just enough variable options to give the newly-initiated the freedom they need to make their first units their own. We’ve also broken down this years offerings from the 41st millennium, so check out that article as well! If you like what we’re doing here you could really help encourage more content with a share on any social media platform. They are straightforward and easy-to-follow: big dudes in big armour with big weapons and big colours; heroic, holier-than-thou warriors pulled from the Stereotype Fantasy Good Guys Barrel, much to Nagash’s ire – though why baffles me (honestly, can you imagine these people at parties? It seems that lately, AoS has newer factions (but this year it looks like some repeats), whereas Warhammer 40k is a mix of both newer and older (like Guard in 2020).

New goodies for Necromunda and the Horus Heresy will be revealed, while the Warhammer Live crew will be working on the Warcry: Sundered Fate and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battleforce boxes on Hang Out and Paint . Inside, you’ll find Lady Olynder, Mortarch of Grief , a Black Coach , 10 Bladeghast Revenants , 10 Dreadscythe Harridans , and 10 Grimghast Reapers . So a lot depends on the RRP of each Battleforce but there’s likely to be some good deals in there – especially if it’s your army or you’re looking for something new to play with in 2023. The Liberators’ aesthetic lacks teeth (both figuratively and, in the Warhammer universe, very literally), and this is where the problem many experienced collectors have with Stormcast Eternals begins. It is our mission to bring you the latest from the miniature wargaming scene, from narrative missions, hobby how-to tutorials, battle reports, unboxings and reviews, retro flashbacks, news, rumors, and more.Once the Prosecutors have spread their wings, it’s on to the Lord-Relictor and finally the Lord-Celestant on Dracoth; both models have their details, their foibles and their quirks, and the latter will likely be the first larger model a novice builder has attempted – and yet it is not too intimidating in its size. The Treelords and Revenants are kits that can be built different ways and you actually get two Treelords. It’s on the lower end of the savings in the AoS battleforce breakdown, and clocks in at the lowest total points value as well.

I play against a very good DoK player regularly and he has won various games because of every units in this box. Whilst more experienced painters looking to add to their collections, as well as die-hard Old World fans, may see as the models’ weaknesses, are the faction’s strengths for the newbie: the fact each model is so straightforward in its design and similar to the next means that they are the perfect range for the newcomer, whilst simultaneously the skilled hobbyist can create some truly incredible conversions, and in a truly talented pair of hands, even the unassuming Sequitor can become a thing of true beauty – take a look at Longleaf Miniatures’ incredible Dark Souls-inspired Lion-Knights of Sigmar.

I had seen some Stormcast Eternals on the internet and had picked up a copy of the Getting Started with Warhammer: Age of Sigmar magazine, mainly for the mini that came with it. This Battleforce contains 26 miniatures, all clad in dashing metal suits, including two mightyStormdrake Guard on their draconith steeds. The reason for this is the aforementioned familiarity in the design of the models – that source of such ire for some – and those models included in this box (a Lord-Celestant on Dracoth, a Lord-Relictor, three Prosecutors, three Retributors, and 10 Liberators, including two Liberator-Primes) take full advantage of this, as we shall see. The fundamental design – that Liberator in his gold armour – forms the basis for every other model in the Stormcast Eternal range. While you’re out dominating the Realms with this powerful army, don’t forget to send us a ghostcard.

When lockdown hit the UK, I had dozens of little grey Stormcast figures assembled and waiting to be painted. The main draw back is that Revenant kits aren’t the easiest builds and the Dryads are old with rough mould lines.Having assembled the simple Liberators, the logical progression – and that exemplified in the assembly guide – is to the Retributors.
