Description

Specialist laser and measurement tool company Huepar have created a simple yet powerful green laser level for indoor and outdoor use. The BOX-1G is an accurate laser level that can be set up in seconds and is easy to mount on most surfaces. Because of its high price, this level kit won’t be for everyone, especially those who typically do more minor DIY projects. But “if you need a laser level to be as close to perfect for level and plumb, then this device is an excellent product,” says our tester. Laser levels are useful devices for homeowners, DIYers, contractors, and anyone else who needs a straight line for leveling. Here are some of the main ways you can use a laser level. The laser level working range is specified (in metres) both with and without a receiver , so bear this in mind when comparing values.

Green beams tend to be easier to see because they are brighter than red beams and easier for our eyes to see, but a red beam (as a general rule) will be easier to spot outside. The red laser beams are also easier to emit, which means that any laser level using a red beam will likely have a battery that lasts longer than green laser models. Power Unlike bubble levels, laser levels “project a beam of light that is perfectly level or plumb,” says Fariha Nasir, the DIY and lifestyle guru behind Pennies for a Fortune. She adds that these levels can also be more convenient, “since you're not holding up a tool against the wall, which frees up both hands.”

BVR Rating

Feature Set: While all laser levels have the same basic functionality, some come with additional features that might make them more useful. These include auto-leveling capability, IP rating for dust and water-proofing, magnet mounts, and additional accessories. Definitely, say both experts. “A laser level is 100 percent worth purchasing if you do any kind of DIY projects around the house like trim work or even something simple like a gallery wall,” explains Nasir. “It makes it so much easier to have a visual line as a guide rather than holding up a traditional level.” McCoy adds that laser levels “help you to produce perfect angles and flat planes, no matter the job.” At the very end of the test, we gave testers the price of each laser level so they could evaluate the overall value of each. We took all of these testing insights to come up with the best laser levels. Harry has real-world tested 46 products for DIY Garden, and is one of our more experienced testers.

If it's your first time buying a laser level, please do not worry when you see the laser part inside the level doesn't stand straight up! Make sure to look how far your laser beam will be visible for, and also how accurate it will be at this maximum distance. Many laser beams will lose strength at their maximum visibility length, which can affect the accuracy of the line, so look for one that is likely to have longer visibility than you are going to need. Green beam vs Red BeamSurprisingly, the second one was also the same in that the laser part wasn't straight up and I got confused. Of course, I Googled to look for an answer but couldn't find it. Third, we again adjusted the tripod so that the laser was aligned with the premarked line on the wall. We changed the laser mode to emit a vertical line only, and then adjusted the tripod head until the vertical laser line aligned with the premarked plumb line on the wall. We evaluated how easy the line was to see, and whether or not it matched the premarked line. If it didn’t, we measured the deviation to the nearest 1/16 inch. Laser levels are fantastic tools that can empower a beginner to make fewer mistakes and give a professional a way to increase the efficiency of their workflow. However, this is only true about quality laser levels. But, what does quality mean, and how can you determine the quality level of a particular laser level?
