Also, you get the added bonus of Deodato’s disco infused ‘Super Strut’ and the haunting ‘Home Is Where The Hatred Is’ by Esther Phillips. The Deodato release has been joined by another pair of albums, this time from Deodato's old label CTI Records. Before it was fashionable, producer Creed Taylor's label had been injecting pop and R&B sensibilities into jazz, paving the way for the commercial fusion sound. Fuse One was the label's late-period supergroup, releasing three albums beginning in 1980. The "supergroup" concept wasn't new to CTI; not only had the label sponsored "All-Star" concerts, but its top-tier musicians frequently cross-pollinated each other's albums in truly democratic style. Robinsongs' two-fer presents two of the group's three releases from this unique group designed without a proper "leader."Membership was not concrete, but included Tony Williams, Joe Farrell, John McLaughlin, Stanley Turrentine, Wynton Marsalis, Larry Coryell, Lenny White, Paulinho Da Costa, Ronnie Foster, Stanley Clarke, George Benson, Todd Cochran, Leon "Ndugu" Chancler, Tom Browne, Dave Valentin, Jorge Dalto and Eric Gale.

The news of Roger’s death in April 1999 stunned Funk & Soul Fans around the globe as apparently he had been murdered by his older brother and song writing partner Larry Troutman, who then committed suicide, why still remains a mystery. Fuse One was a group of jazz musicians who collaborated for two albums released on CTI Records and one album released on GNP Crescendo Records. When it comes to the Bass guitar, the first name that comes to mind for most people is the Legend that is Stanley Clarke, so we here at Robinsongs are immensely proud to be issuing the Definitive Collection of Stanley’s amazing career.
