After they are cut off by thick snow and another murder victim is discovered Justice finds a true friend, but she is almost too late in discovering the murderer. Elly Griffiths has a talent for creating a sense of atmosphere and tension that draws the reader in and makes them feel as if they are part of the story. There wasn't a huge twist that I like in the book, at least not something that shocked me completely, however the clues and Justice's own thoughts can help you figure out the murderer yourself (something I don't think I'll ever be able to do). Griffths has created a good mystery to solve, and I have to admit that when the villain was revealed, I couldn't believe that I missed the clues that had been planted along the way. Justice is convinced that one of the teachers at the school is involved in the smuggling operation and sets out to find the evidence to prove it. Herbert Jones QC had chosen the small but highly regarded Highbury House Boarding School for the Daughters of Gentlefolk for his beloved daughter.
