Mercy is quite possibly my favorite heroine in the series for her strength and independence, and I just hope she stays the Mercy I’ve always loved. His hot hands were roaming freely around her body, making her jolt in a unique sensation she never felt before. Lip service is given to the women being strong (particularly the dominant ones, though there’s condescending business in this book about how intimidating the “maternals” can be), but it’s just a sham. No matter what we’re *told* about the heroes (Clay as aloof and silent, Riaz as lone wolf, etc) when the story focuses on them, the men lose their specific personalities and blur into one Generic Singh Hero who is all about dominance and possession and his woman. We've all seen the Wealthy-CEO-lead-who-accidentally-got-involved-with-a-poor-woman-against-his-wishes archetype.

At the same time, I can also see your point that an excess of emotion or violent emotion can also be harmful and unstable, but Singh doesn’t portray it in that light.I found it a little odd that he wanted to know more about my mystery beau right after he told me that he wanted to divorce me. The heroines range from my fav Elnore the final boss to the hero Elijah (who is super sweet and eventually turns yandere too much to Daud's dismay) to Yuria (who is like a small puppy you just wanna hug and has a really cool skill that makes people not come into contact with her but do you think thats gonna stop our boy Daud despite the fact it might kill him? With that skill going for him, he gets a lot of attention from crazy people ( important to note that the novel isn't bl or has anything related to that) but you could say that MC is probably crazier than all of . Anyway, I found this kind of confusing – the nature of fated mates may be better explained in one of the previous books, in which case I’ve just forgotten the explanation. I am not saying that one couldn’t be written in such a way that it’d work for me, but in general I find it a turn-off.

Janine: My problem sticking with series mostly applies to series that follow the same main characters. She finds out her one and only grandson impregnanted a temp office worker, and in true chaebol granny fashion, immediately begins Making Plans For This Situation. I’m still just so annoyed over that book and the fact that Hawke/Sienna seem to be all over ToN is another reason I’m hesitant to read it.I think I have to admit to having a split personality on these points, because while the heroes’ besting of the heroines can often irritate me, when it comes to the physical dominance stuff, I revel in it. Jennie: It seemed to me that the focus was placed on how badly Martin dealt with his resentments (though it also seemed like her family had never liked him, making me wonder if he’d always been a bit of a jerk or there is really a lot of prejudice in the changeling world against dominant female/non-dominant male pairings). She is a walking doom's day time bomb, has all the noble attributes you would expect from a character in her position (come on man look at her illustrations, she is like a better Esdeath but not mean but so sweet) but when its comes to Daud she turns into a crazy girl in love and its a joy to read about her interactions with the other heroines. It's not an unexpected info dump, but blended well into the story so that it does not feel out of place.
