Also, The Dark Lord is touching our World and many creepy and unsettling things are happening all over the place - it does not look good for the followers of the Light, particularity since the Dark Friends plan of "Let Chaos Rule" has worked waaaaaay better than expected... We are getting closer and closer to the Last Battle...

While attempting to escape Altara, Mat meets his supporter and comedic foil Talmanes, who has brought a large number of Mat's personal army the Band of the Red Hand south after working briefly for the King of Murandy. Mat is surprised to learn that the Band has grown in size considerably since he last left it. The Wheel of Time [is] rapidly becoming the definitive American fantasy saga. It is a fantasy tale seldom equaled and still less often surpassed in English.” — Chicago Sun-TimesRobert Jordan's work has been a formative influence and an inspiration for a generation of fantasy writers.” —Brent Weeks, New York Times bestselling author of The Way of Shadows Moving along, there are actually good things to say about this book! For one, it's better than Crossroads of Twilight, and thank heavens, although this is akin to saying that getting punched in the kidney is better than being torn apart by sharks. Unfortunately, the depressing stench of that prior book makes all of the dreary, unnecessarily detailed, drawn-out moments that still exist in Knife of Dreams stand out that much worse. Crossroads broke me! Yes, the series has plenty of slow, detestable segments before that, but my heart is now drained of forgiveness. I can still enjoy the good parts. I still want to finish the series (especially since the author baton has been passed at this point). I can praise the good parts of Knife of Dreams. But it does not erase the sins of the past, and neither does it correct some of them. Nynaeve and Lan finally getting a little relationship fleshing out and one of my favorite moments of the series. Way to go all Aes Sedea on your man Nynaeve. This is probably the only time I will approve of such a move.

Semirhage - Apparently was hanging with the Seanchan; disguised herself as Tuon to meet with Rand, took his hand, was captured. Seriously, Cadsuane, in three hundred-plus years of living you MUST have encountered a way to make people listen to your otherwise perfectly sound advice that doesn’t involve publically humiliating them. In front of people from whom it is vitally important to have respect, too! At the manor there are about fifty regular Whitecloaks and a half dozen Questioners led by Rhadam Asunawa. Valda chastises Trom; he and the other Lords Captain are supposed to be headed to Nassad for a meeting with the Seanchan. Trom says that one of the Children has defiled and murdered the family of one of their numbers, and wishes to call the Trial Beneath the Light. Asunawa objects and asks Trom to name the criminal so the Questioners can interrogate him. Valda approves, however, and Galad challenges him. Asunawa wants to arrest Galad, but Valda overrides him and accepts. Bornhald takes Galad's cloak and sword belt while another under-lieutenant, Kashgar, takes Valda's. Bornhald warns Galad that Valda strikes to the left most often, but Galad has trained under Henre Haslin and Gareth Bryne, and is aware of that. Let's just say that the Last Battle draws near as can be seen by buildings suddenly changing corridors and rooms amongst other things. Thus, it's time for the remaining factions to decide which side they are on. However, them being fueled and driven by self-interest is complicating matters.
