About this deal

Though, of course, it's not quite as simple as that -- no great love story is, but especially when said love story involves a murderer and a king whom nearly everyone wishes to murder. However, Tricia Levenseller recently announced a companion novel, The Darkness Within Us, which is currently expected to come out in 2023 according to her Instagram.

Tricia Levenseller’s latest, The Shadows Between Us, is a decadent and wickedly addictive fantasy, full of schemes and court intrigue, and delightful descriptions of food, which I am always a fan of. Families can talk about sexually empowered female characters in The Shadows Between Us and in other media. I've read all of Tricia Levenseller's books now and I've come to learn that they are super quick reads, which I always love. I loved how neither of them flinched away from the other’s darkest secrets, accepting each other for the messed up people they are.Alessandra is portraited as an antagonist instead of the classical good-hearted protagonist we’re so used to read about. She’s selfish, self-absorbed in the way that she could watch herself in the mirror for hours and still not get bored; she’s murderous and wicked-minded; she has a heart of ice and she’s a bit unstable when she gets a bit upset.

And, of course, the way you’ve described it as a ‘Slytherin romance’ does have me wanting to add this to my TBR immediately! com/acourtofsilverpages/) for recommendations and spoiler-free reviews of fantasy as well as romance books! She wants power and control, and not even the fact that she murdered someone can hold her back from achieving her goals. The author develops the characters in the series so intricately that you can almost feel what the characters are feeling. More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate, Riden. So thank you, Tricia, for giving the big eff you to the more popular theme of changing morally grey characters to white flags of peace and generosity. We learn she has killed someone who broke her heart, she woos men into falling for her and gifting her such lavish rings, and she seems to be hell bent on making the Shadow King fall in love with her (to kill him, of course). As he dodges assassination attempts, she finds herself trying to keep him alive long enough for him to make her his queen – all while struggling not to lose her heart. But I love character driven plots so I’ll definitely be curious to check this one out and sometimes I just need a fast paced book!

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller Review: The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller

Women should not have more shame than men about desiring and seeking sexual relationships if they want them. War and Strategy, Fae Courts, Love and Sacrifice, Redemption Arc, Allies Turned Enemies, Power Dynamics, Magic and Might, Shape-shifting, Hidden Agendas, Tortured Souls, Undercover Missions, Family Ties, Rivalries, Battle of Wits, Unexpected Alliances, Ancient Evils, Romantic Tensions, Secrets and Revelations, Heroic Resolve, Supernatural Creatures, Power of Unity. I just see a shy boy who loves spending time with his fluff of a dog (which, by the way, mild spoiler alert, is the best thing this book has to offer). It does however have a small sex scene and talk of sex is very prevelent in the book nothing descriptive though. After reading the blurb for this book I was very intrigued because it sounded so fun and full of some classic elements I like! They both really are each other’s equal, they want power and they don’t care how they achieve that goal. No wonder it spoke to me on so many impossible levels, as I happen to be part of a triad of Houses ( Slytherfinclaw, each House at about 30%). My only advice would be that you better get to this book before the hype gets to you and pollutes your brain with too high of an expectation. With her sister’s life at stake, she is forced into a breakneck race with the handsome mercenary, Kellyn, and the young scholar, Petrik, to find a powerful magical healer in a nearby city.
