About this deal

The cover says it’s “a story of breathtaking power and dazzling suspense”, which I can’t agree with. Yes, it’s a jumble of too many ideas, but you can pick and choose, and the ideas contained within are potentially very powerful. This is my non-fiction/motivational book for 2012, and this book came to me right at the beginning of the year(maybe this is a sign that I needed a reminder?

Most of the teachings in this book are things you’ve probably heard before, but reading it and seeing it from Julian Mantle’s perspective gives it a whole new meaning.Unfortunately, there wasn't anything new enough here to make up for my disappointment at being jipped on the motivational biography I thought this was. I learned one thing very prominently from his book is show leadership in everything you do, don't wait for the things to happen instead make them happen.

Not spending more time with your family, not meeting more people, not laughing enough or not billing more hours at the office? And these new discoveries inspired him to venture to the Himalayan Mountains, where he came across the monks that lived there. Whether showing that it's normal if your goals change over time, or if the passion that you once felt for a job gives way to a sense of emptiness, it will certainly change your perspective. There he learnt, under the tutelage of Yogi Raman and others, the timeless virtues of enlightened living.Giving more to life and to your community is a paradigm-shifting perspective from the “self” mentality of survival of the fittest. It contains some good life lessons that may help you to recalibrate your life and rethink the way you do things. The author, Robin Sharma, weaved a fable from his life experience and created the golden and evergreen pieces of advice you will come across in the book. Easy to read book, direct to the point and it was good in terms of getting some advice to make our lives happier, despite that we all probably already knew about the tips given there. The disciple is so entranced by the sage of his mentor that he agrees with everything he says, no questions are asked and all the proposed techniques and ideas are immediately adopted.

You’ll come to realize, the power of cultivating a rich mentality will help you manifest the energy you’ll need to attain the success you desire. Within the pages of this immensely inspiring book that has transformed the lives of people and families across the planet, life-improvement guru Robin Sharma reveals a surprisingly easy yet strikingly effective system that shows you how to awaken the natural leadership potential of your child while restoring your own balance, joy, and inner peace in the process. I think it's all a bit of a waste of time if you don't try to spend some of your time improving your life from within. Our identification with this high-achieving, aspirational Alpha male, makes his fallout all the more disturbing. His collapse provokes a spiritual crisis, leading him to seek answers to life's most important questions.it taught me that in life all these material gains are all vanity that they are not the true value of life.

It helped me change my perspective towards my new family and my new life as a wife, daughter in law and a sister in law. I wished to flip through something very soft in the wording yet impactful and then I was recommended this book. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari was published in 1999 by Harper Collins Publishers, and has sold more than three million copies as of 2013. Each of these Virtues is discussed in some detail in separate chapters, each of them with a number of concepts and habits to develop. But I don’t know if I would have been able to take as much out of them if I had of read them earlier. Before moving, Mantle sold his mansion and his Ferrari; he was sure that his quest for meaning was more important.
