The Meta Quest 2 is more powerful than its predecessor, featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor and 6GB RAM. The headset's weight distribution generally felt good, which is important considering the Quest is built for movement and lots of turning and looking up and down.

It's an out of the box experience that allows you to play truly immersive VR anytime and (almost) anywhere. Even if you have the biggest known game, The Walking Dead, you can still load about 15 other titles without worry. The Quest opens up possibilities for walking around, bending, crouching, and generally not being wary of tripping over wires whatever you do within a virtual environment. Oculus Quest launched on May 21, 2019 and is now available in 22 countries, including the UK and US.I say this every time I try a new VR headset but it’s always true: this is the best VR display I’ve ever used. And while fierce rivals have appeared in recent years, including the Pico 4, few headsets can compete with Meta’s ever-growing library following acquisitions of the studios behind Beat Saber, Iron Man VR and the Resident Evil 4 port. The overall design of the Quest is lovely, but it's the untethered freedom and relatively compact design that’s the real draw here.

Hand-tracking capabilities: Now supports hand tracking, allowing you to navigate menus without controllers.But if you’re into gaming, it’s still a great way to spend a few hours having a laugh with a group of friends. It's generally a bit cheaper and can offer you a new way to enjoy games you may already own like Resident Evil 7 and Star Wars Squadrons. We hope there'll be just as much documentary, discover, nature and arts-based content as the Quest gains momentum amongst developers. Having said that, we are expecting more and more upgrades to the Quest 2 that might not address every niggling issue but could improve the VR experience even more. Newcomers to VR might want to adopt the newer Oculus Quest 2 because of its higher-resolution screen and refined controllers, but for folks looking to get a deal on (slightly) older hardware, the Oculus Quest remains a great option.
