We have been working collaboratively with Medicareplus International to ensure Medi Derma pathway and formulary compliance for our local community. We use the Medi Derma- S Film and Cream and the Medi Derma-PRO products and we've had some really good results on patient skin with using those. I found this was really helpful to read alongside Alex’s MASD session as it was super easy to follow and summarised the teaching session really well. The training session was really beneficial to support the care homes and community staff, and was well received by all who attending, also good for networking and supporting other services’ and to add the training was a ‘hit here’. The support provided by Medicareplus International had enabled us to reduce our prevalence of sacral and bittock reassure ulcers.has supported our nursing staff by providing a clear but straightforward tool to help them identify moisture-associated skin damage, establish the severity and manage it using an appropriate barrier product. Support workers were encouraged to ask questions during the presentation and a copy of the MASD pathway was given to support workers for future reference. Medicareplus International delivered an interactive training session to clinical support workers – MASD pathway and Medi Derma products. The role of applying barrier cream was taken away from HCAS however under new MFT guidance this is due to be reinstated.
