Lewis (1938 – July 15, 2021) was an American fiber artist, teacher and author known for her contributions to the Art to Wear movement. STORYTELLERS highlights artists and approaches that use narrative to communicate personal stories and universal truths. Lewis was also an author of knitting books, and contributor to knitting magazines, [6] including A Machine Knitter’s Guide To Creating Fabrics (with Julia Weissman), considered foundational to the craft, [2] and Knitting lace. Dale says the beading and knitting on display in “Moth Cape” makes it a standout even among master crafters. He embeds incisive observation into his work, investigating intersections of culture and concept in form, image and sound. For instance, the Moth Cape represented a nightmare, " wherein a feeling of death enveloped her like the wings of a giant moth".Dale played Mister Peacham and won a Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics' Award, The Richard Seff Award and a Tony Award nomination. She has served on the Advisory Council for The Textile Museum in Washington, DC and the Art Advisory Board for the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum in South Hadley, Massachusetts. It starred Dale as the young Terence "Spike" Milligan, while Milligan himself plays the part of his father, Leo. He combines his Chicano heritage with Thai, Peruvian, Bolivian, Mongolian, Egyptian, Taiwanese, and Indonesian civilization and mythologies. Dale noticed this groundswell of textile artists in 1973 when she opened her Julie Artisans Gallery.

In 2018, Dale narrated SPIN: The Rumpelstiltskin Musical by Edelman and Fishman, noted as being the first audiobook musical of its kind. Born James Smith on 15th August, 1935 in Rothwell, Northants, England, UK, he is famous for Carry on Series. The song (performed by the Seekers) reached number 2 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart the following year, it also made number 3 in Dale's native UK and Number 1 in Australia, going on to sell over 11 million records around the world.She encouraged fiber artists, who often focused on hangings, to explore the potential of worn textile shapes and their movements.
