A full strength (42% abv) distilled gin made using only natural, real fruit flavours and colourings. Our small batch, single-shot distilled South Yorkshire London Botanical Gin is distilled using 18 botanicals including rosemary and mint, as a nod back to our head distillers time as a butcher after he left the Army and the famous Barnsley Chop.

Delicately distilled to combine the unique taste of Hooting Owl Distillery London Dry gin with tart rhubarb and natural vanilla extract, this VIE flavoured gin delivers a fruity taste, fresh aroma and a natural, blush colour. What we then do, we go out into each part of the county, and we pick up different botanicals that relate to that part of the county and our story. We recommend a high-quality, plain tonic as we believe the flavour of the gin should be predominant.

Forged by nature, our North Yorkshire gin takes inspiration from the wild, earthy beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors, between Thirsk and Whitby, where we harvest heather and bilberries, when in season. Swirling with an ice cube renders the somewhat aggressive alcohol impact considerably creamier and smoother. Tipsy Toad take Hawthorn berries, sarsaparilla and tonka bean, with a blend of rums from Guyana and Jamaica, which are now blended in the UK. Our small batch spirits are carefully handcrafted with traditional methods to create unique, high quality flavour combinations with strong connections to our local landscape.

We are not certain we discerned heather and bilberries, but the gin did boast a distinct character, while maintaining dry London gin credentials. Inspired by the story of the house itself and by the geography, culinary heritage and abundant produce of Yorkshire, Hooting Owl also adds a hint of family and military history to the mix.So if we start collecting at 75 we're still collecting methanol rather than ethanol, the good stuff. This is a good example of a London Dry Gin, but we feel it requires more adjustment to bring out some depth of flavour.
