My foil came with the clear transfer sheets but in my experience the scrap paper allows more heat to get to the foil, which allows it to stick to the toner better. My Laser Printer - this has sadly been discontinued as I have an OKI C301dn :( I do need a new printer though as I think mine is coming to the end of it's life now. I would think however that if you are wanting to use the transfer on items such as glasses or bags etc that there are better products more suited to this (e. Gold foil printing is done with the help of a laser printer, some gold foil transfer sheets and a laminator or a gold foiling machine. If you need to make a design with foiled and unfoiled areas then you will need to print the unfoiled areas on an inkjet printer first and then print the areas for foiling on a laser printer. Ensure your foil piece is nice and smooth and undamaged – if you use scratched dirty foil then the result will be a patchy image. Once it has come out the other side wait a minute for it to cool down and then gently peel off the foil. I’m not really sure what would cause that, but I will definitely watch more closely and if I find out anything I’ll post it here.This could be from the laminator not being hot enough, or can also be a result of the paper you are using (the more grit the paper has, the less foil that will stick smoothly). Use your latex regulator to add a micro-second of helium, or use a hand pump to add just enough air to fill out the inner shape. Usually they react the same on each day so I usually attribute the difference to how hot my laminator, how many times I run the design through the machine, or my paper smoothness. Although the balloon will seem tight, continue inflating and stop just as the wrinkles disappear, leaving a perfectly smooth seam. I must say there is a huge difference as the laminators were giving me patchy and inconsistent results. My suggestion would be to try taking a cloth or paper towel (not wet), and wiping down the page around the printing just to remove any dust or flakes of toner that might be there.

Update: I don’t think the Mohawk paper is available anymore, but this HP Paper is also very smooth and I love it! Small designs go all the way through the laminator faster, therefore they are still hotter when they go in the 2nd/3rd times. The piece on the right in this image is ok to use - the piece on the left will leave a little black circle on your print. I haven’t noticed a significant difference but I’ve heard of others that have better luck when they do it higher quality or on the photo setting. But that being said, any color you print will be covered by the foil, so you won’t see any differences in color anyway. so make sure your foil covers your whole image – there is nothing worse than getting a perfect print with a tiny edge missing.The reason for running it through more than once is to continue to heat the foil and have it adhere to the paper better.
