Excitement levels rocketed when they realised that the battery-powered whisk is actually able to froth real milk, allowing them to feel like the real thing. Fill the shaker bottles with the flavoured powders included or choose your own home owned powders and sprinkles to top your drinks! Within 2 minutes we had made her first Babycino – you add milkshake powder to a little jug and some milk (the instructions say to add the powder first but we have found it works better if you put the powder in after the milk) then you whizz it up and pour it into one of the recyclable cups. It is also important to note that these drinks are cold, so although they look like coffees your child will not burn themselves at all as nothing is heated. There is a clear set of visual instructions for you or your child to follow, which I went through with Alyssa – she thought it looked so easy that she wanted to make a “How to Use” Video which you can see now on our Instagram.

You can use any flavoured powder for your base mix as well as for the topping for your finished creation. Both my children have always loved their play kitchen and have spent years making me cups of tea and coffee. Once done, pour over your drink mix and add a fabulous final flourish using the stencils and powder. Create chocolate and strawberry drinks with frothy foam, and top off with stenciled designs to make latte art like a barista. We then poured the froth on top, took one of 3 stencils and shook chocolate and strawberry powder over the top to create a cool design like mummy has on her coffee!

Hot chocolate powder and strawberry milkshake powders work a treat and can be picked up really cheaply from most supermarkets.

As the jug is clear the kids are able to see the whisk at work and on the first drink they can watch it turn from white to pink or brown and on the second they can see it getting frothier and bigger, which mine enjoyed.So, when we were asked to review the new at home Creative Cafe Barista Bar, I knew Alyssa would be excited… I just didn’t realise HOW excited!

You can even use a variety of different milks to make your drinks including regular, low fat, cold lactose free, almond and soy milk. They will love the ability to make drinks that look like real cafe style beverages, and then decorating them for a professional finish!

The perfect role play toy, kids will love pretending to be a real barista and creating cafe creations for their friends and family. The set contains recipe/instruction cards for the children to follow so they can make different flavoured drinks. We had to attach the crank handle which was super easy and you need a screwdriver (small cross-head) to pop in 3 AA batteries which are not included. The kit includes a frothing pitcher, mixing tools, flavor mixes, and more; all kids need to add is milk. Kids can even get creative and invent their own “latte” flavors with ingredients from their kitchen!
