In a Thousand Different Ways by Cecelia Ahern | Waterstones

On several occasions through the book you could relate to how you really don’t know what is going on with others around you, life seemingly perfect on the outside but possibly something that couldn’t be further from the truth. When I was there for the first time I felt the landscape was so different to anything I’d ever experienced before that I had the feeling this is what it must be like to be on another planet. This condition overwhelms her and stops her from being able to communicate with others and find her way easily. All the while Alice is trying to come to terms with a unique ability, one which is simultaneously her critical weakness and her superpower. Her older brother Hugh tries to protect Alice and their younger brother Ollie from their volatile mother but leaves as soon as he’s able, which coincides with Alice being sent away to a school for troublesome children. A beautiful and despairing story that really made me reflect on moments from my own life and present interactions through a coloured magnifying glass. An interesting plot and characters you could visualise, don’t want to give things away but I felt I was “ seeing “ too, it was so well described . Im discovering I have a love for damaged female protagonists, whether it's down to nature or nurture I love these girls.

In a Thousand Different Ways: the gripping, unforgettable new

She is immersed in the turmoil of other people’s emotions until she finds a way of existing in society. Here is a quick description and cover image of book In a Thousand Different Ways written by Cecelia Ahern which was published in April 13, 2023.When she goes off to school for difficult children (with anger issues and lack of concentration) due to her mother and later come back home as a carer for her now invalid mother - the events are more fill in the blanks. I knew that it was not going to be the case for every single book for the rest of my life and so I was embracing the moment and enjoying it as much as I possibly could. I would have possibly liked the last two chapters to last a little longer but otherwise this was a beautiful telling of a life.
