The Octopus Fan Club is available for customers who live in Fan Club eligible postcodes, have a working Smart Meter and are on a standard fixed or flexible Octopus Energy import tariff. Octopus Energy launched to the public in April 2016. It supplies 100% renewable electricity and gas to over 1.8 million UK homes. Octopus Energy is the only Which? Recommended energy supplier for a third year in a row, topping the table in 2020. It also recently won Best Utility at the Utility Week Awards. Since launching it in 2021, over 15,000 people across the country have got in touch with Octopus asking for a turbine in their community. Octopus manages 3.2 GW of renewable energy assets across Europe. The company is stepping up its generation capabilities with plans to have at least 1,000 wind turbines on its ‘Fan Club’ in the UK by the end of the decade.

The new ‘Fan Club’ tariff will be available to people living in the HX2 postcode area in Halifax and it’s possible to sign up here from today. As their installations grow so will the opportunities for others to take advantage of this discounted electricity rate. Unlike the previous fan, the Lasko Tower is not nearly as powerful but still does a good job. Just as importantly, it is a lot quieter than the Lasko High Velocity fan, although still a bit louder than most bike fan attachments.
