About this deal

Finally, the treble is inoffensive. It’s just there to make sure that things don’t sound overly dark but it takes the furthest seat in the entire presentation. Cymbals hits sound muted, they easily smear into each other, and there is hints of splashiness despite the recessed treble. It doesn’t draw much attention to it, but when you pay attention to the treble — it’s not good in terms of resolution/timbre. Like the BLON BL-03, in terms of technicalities, both of these sets are below average in this department. I think the BLON BL-01 just nudges ahead a tinge in the imaging, instrument separation, details and soundstage departments. Timbre is slightly better on the KBEAR KS1. Now, about the sound. I must admit upfront that I changed tips early on. There was just a bit more treble than I wanted so I used tips with a smaller bore and now they sound great. I also replaced the cable with a 2.5mm balanced one to use with my Hiby 3 PRO'S balanced out. It didn't make any difference tonally but it benefits from more power from the balanced output. I always replace the cable just for this reason. This model form Kbear doesn’t get the attention it deserve, as they are quite competent for a super budget hybrid. Sony PS Vita – Lots of volume to spare, very dynamic sounding and not fatiguing. Just awesome for the Persona dancing games.

The positions are not set in stone. I’m only human; I may miss out on certain details or traits that may only be apparent with repeated listening. Expect changes. Are clear for the most part, their is a recession and even a push forward in vocals its noticeable but not uncommon. The Mids are far from shouty and brighten up in the upper region , overall they sound good and natural for a V-signature. I think this is where these IEMs shine. The KS2s have a pretty good bass response, especially in the sub-bass. The mid-bass is also pretty impactful but occasionally gets a little messy.

Details Too often only average due to the inherently good trebles detail retrieval being covered by the lower half of the presentation. Listening to Diana Krall's "Besame Mucho" shows this, though it sounds rather forward here, you can hear that there is a slight veil to it, adding a layer of warmness to her smooth voice which can be a bit too much warmness. However, to complement this, I tried this out with Etta James'"At Last" and I think her voice is not too "sharp". However, there is the issue of sounding too tamed here, since her voice is supposed to stand out a bit more but the earbuds toned it down a tad too much. The mid-bass is more emphasised and for me it is the quality of the bass which stands out, it does not overwhelm, so that it is not thumpy or lumpy, it is smooth and relaxing.

I am not an expert in this hobby nor claim to be an audiophile. I just love listening to music and am fond of writing. The KBEAR Stellar is a cheap and good budget earbud, sporting a warm U shaped tuning that is non fatiguing and smooth. Technicalities (other than soundstage) are quite well done, though this is a not a set for trebleheads in view of the rolled off treble.

Warm, slight-v-shaped sound signature. Smooth overall presentation without any hints or instances of fatigue. This is an over-ear design iem instead of bullet from Tanya and E500. Very light weight plastic that comes with 2 pin extruded style. As for the design of KS2 - its quite generic to current trend like KZ with good quality plastic resin finishing with decent cable slightly better than similar price KZ offerings. The size and fitting is good imho and also weight wise is light and comfort factor is good. The ranking list is *not* based on preference, it’s based on how crinacle think is “objectively” the best. On first impressions, the KS2 didn't have much of a detailed separation, most of the sound comes out as one cohesive sound with the bass sounding slightly separated due to it being boosted. However, when listening closer, you can actually hear that the separation level here is between the highs, mids level. Highs usually get drowned out on the genres that I listen to, but works better with Rap and RnB. In heavier genres or songs, the sound tend to sound rather mashed up and hence I don't recommend this for heavy genre songs such as Metal.
