Description

One delinquent upperclassman is well aware of the Aizawa Dojo, a collection of terrifyingly powerful martial artists who ignore the law in defense of the weak and whom the Yakuza dare not cross. However, for all that he would never knowingly gain their notice, he maintains a feud with an tall, freakishly-strong first year girl named Aizawa Tomo. After his pursuit for Revenge by Proxy against Misuzu and Carol is thwarted by Tomo, Jun and a Berserk Button-pressed Misaki he is told by Misuzu exactly who he just crossed and to whose family she belongs. Specifically, the massive, freakishly-strong, overprotective Aizawa patriach. She also reminds him exactly what he would do if he ever found out. Tomo-chan Is a Girl! might not be as popular as other romance anime but some of its subversive elements are bound to appeal to fans of the genre. But what about the Tomo-chan Is a Girl! manga? Is it finished, or ongoing, and should you read it?

Missed Him by That Much: Tomo and Jun are next-door neighbors, but due to both being on different district boundaries, they went to different schools until middle school. This further exacerbated Jun's erroneous perception of Tomo as a boy, and later, he reminisced that in hindsight, he should have noticed his mistake numerous times before. Akemi is Tomo's mother where it is implied that Tomo got her androgynous appearance and boyish personality from her mother. Although, compared to her daughter, Akemi is subjectively even more tomboy-ish. Revenge by Proxy: An upperclassman with a grudge against Tomo attempts this by preying on Misuzu and Carol. He corners them eventually but Tomo catches up... Tomo-chan Is a Girl! delivered a funny and sweet school romance that defies stereotypes. Staff

There's a chapter in which Carol just cuts straight to the point with Jun about his relationship with Tomo.

Yes, the original Tomo-chan is a Girl manga series, written and illustrated by Fumita Yanagida, has sadly already finished. Dope Slap: Carol's mother Ferris delivers one to Misaki after Carol comes home heartbroken thinking that he doesn't love her romantically... except replace the word "slap" with the word " headbutt". Ouch.Sealed with a Kiss: The last comic update ends with Tomo planting a Big Damn Kiss on Jun after years (both in universe and out) of frustration and finally being allowed to date. Tomo met Junichirou Kubota ten years ago after he moved from Tokyo when she climbed his fence to greet him. She returned the next day and accidentally broke his handheld game; Jun punched Tomo (believing she was a guy) in retaliation. Tomo tells him to keep punching, but her answer freaks out Jun. A few hours later, Tomo's father came to Jun's house to apologize for Tomo's actions, even groveling at his feet. Her mother then came by and sorted him out. Tomo then asks Jun if he wants to be friends, and he accepts. Sometime later, Tomo introduces her childhood friend Misuzu Gundou to Jun; she doesn't seem to share the same interest as Tomo. When they finally entered the same middle school together, Jun realized that Tomo was a girl and it was the first time Tomo realized Jun just thought of her as a guy.
