About this deal

Personally, I struggled with the psychological aspects the book discussed. I've had a personal experience with stalking and don't really care to understand the psychological elements of stalkers. It doesn't give them the right to stalk and torment others, in my personal opinion. That said, I found myself shaking my head in agreement with the experts the author interviewed for the book. Now a successful photographer living under the name Naomi Carson, she has found a place that calls to her, thousands of miles away from everything she’s ever known. Naomi wants to embrace the solitude, but the residents of Sunrise Cove keep forcing her to open up―especially the determined Xander Keaton. She was so luminescent, she could easily attract some creep's attention. My heart squeezed tighter at the thought of some asshole taking advantage of Delilah's naivety.

An attempt to contradict the belief is likely to arouse an inappropriately strong emotional reaction, often with irritability and hostility.I loved the first of the book. The character of Naomi when she was a little girl was very strong and grew up into an even stronger woman. The book tells the story of what Naomi, her brother Mason, and her mom go through with the dad going to jail. The mom was an idiot and kept seeing the father even in jail. But, she had 14 something years to be brainwashed by him. Thank you, Nicole, for sharing your story and putting a voice out for a lot of other people who have also been a victim to stalking. Her love interest, town mechanic Xander Keaton, was wonderfully swoony. He was well read, played in a band, owned his own garage, and was well liked. All in all he was a genuinely good guy!! I thought this was a great debut and a fantastic young adult contemporary fiction set in an exclusive private school in Silicon Valley.

Safety: This one should be either Safe with exception or Not Safe for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences. POV: This alternated between focusing mainly on Naomi and Xander in 3rd person narrative with a few sections with a few side-characters.

How to Vote

I could have leapt up, punched my way through the car roof and clouds and through the atmosphere. I called him out on his bluff and it worked!" Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes in the 1990 film adaptation of Stephen King’s Misery. Photograph: Allstar/Columbia Wow! This was a solid rollercoaster of twists and turns, replete with some feminist underpinnings, morally gray heroines, and serious stalker vibes. I feel like this is almost one of those 70s revenge-sploitation movies softened up for a YA audience with shades of YOU. If that sounds like fun, it is. Logan is a creep who could give all of r/niceguys a run for their money. Just one scene and I hate to say this but this scene sort of was imperative to the plot. That doesn't mean I wasn't pissed though. Most of my GR friends know I abhor any animal cruelty but I understand here why the author had to do it. Still...did it have to be so graphic?

Overall Pace of Story: My biggest issue with the book. It was all over the place! It had a fast paced start that grabbed me, then it seemed to slam on the breaks for about 3/5ths of the book, then for the last 5th it was in fast-forward with a suspense aspect and an abrupt ending. With that description, I was pretty sure I was going to be hooked on this one straight away. And I was.Warning: I'm not being vulgar or anything bad, but this book made me angry and I may be itsy bitsy sarcastic. I tried to leave the emotion out of it, but the longer I wrote, the more it showed. I may come to this review and make it more presentable in later days, months or years, but I wouldn't count on it. Stalking is an old behaviour; but incidences of stalking are rising. Experts suggest this is due to society’s increasing culture of blame, relationship breakdowns becoming more common, technology, and the prevalence of pornography and the expectation this can place on women.
