About this deal

From the outside edge, things continue to look good, with the “Camp” tile lining up with the “Nou” on the previous chunk. Wow -- that's quite an overwhelming majority of negative poll responses! 62% have no interest, 19% don't like it. Just 8% plan on buying it." For now, 10284 Camp Nou’s very existence – and any and all details surrounding it – are simply a rumour, so don’t put too much faith in them. At least until the LEGO Group confirms otherwise…

I tell ya, if they released an Architecture-scaled Anfield and Goodison, with Stanley Park in the middle, then I'd be in like a shot!!! I think like Old Trafford this set is aimed at getting football fans into Lego rather than the other way around, so I can understand why there are so many negative poll responses.

Wow reading those comments above ...... Its not for me but hey ho if your a fan its a neat showcase You don’t have to be a Barcelona fan to enjoy 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona. Nor even a football fanatic. You don’t need to have an intricate knowledge of the club’s history, its connection to its local community or an understanding of its wildly out-of-control finances to be able to take in a lot of what 10284 FC Barcelona Camp Nou rewards as a LEGO experience. The proportions are WAAAAY off. The stadium shouldn’t be that tall (look it up on google maps 3D) "

As a display piece based on such an imposing and iconic real-world stadium, how it sits on display is crucial to its appeal, and in every way 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona impresses. It’s one of those LEGO sets that your eyes just glaze over as you take it in, and that highlights a different detail each time you look closer – it’s one to enjoy on display for a long time, if you can find the shelf space. The completed first section reveals that there’s a decent amount of gap between the wedge sections as you move away from the center. It’s a little distracting when seen here, but isn’t as noticeable once the full set is together. It’s a reasonable trade-off for the smooth curve to the overall building’s shape. There are some fun little details when you look closely, too. These two transparent-clear wall elements represent the player’s zone – an area with covered seating for the players and coaches. I suspect the “Camp Nou” signage and impressive glass wall will be the angle most fans choose to showcase this from, though. The final bit of the build is adding some decorative touches to the top of the stands and to the grey base. We’ll cover those enhancements in the next section. It’s not on the same level of disorientating repetition as we experienced in piecing together 10276 Colosseum – at all – but as a consequence of a) the natural shape of the real-world stadium, b) how similar that shape is to the Colosseum and c) how effective the technique used in constructing the Colosseum scales down for Camp Nou, there are parallels in the build experience, and without breaking up the process the repetition will become noticeable.

I don't care for it, but there are people who will so there's nothing wrong with this thing's existence" The first steps build the playing field. There’s nothing too exciting about this, but I was surprised the designers didn’t have this section be the final part of the build. It feels like it would be a pretty fun capstone to the building experience, particularly as things get really dull in the main build. But more on that later. For right now, just enjoy a modular section that you could easily repurpose as the center of another custom stadium build. That being said, 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona benefits where 10276 Colosseum could not by offering so much more colour across the build and various other little details and variations. The repetitive segments are there to create the nucleus of the set, but there’s great fun in what you build around it, whilst the end result comes together so remarkably well that even if you were a little bored putting it together, you’ll more than forgive what’s in front of you.The slogan on the bleachers reads “Més que un club,” which translates from the Catalan as “More than a club.” We have mentioned comparisons not only to 10272 Old Trafford – Manchester United but also to 10276 Colosseum and that is with purpose, both positive and negative. That is because for how much like both of those sets 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona amazes as a display model and for where it resembles 10272 Old Trafford – Manchester United in selected techniques and general approach, it also comes very close in stages to the build experience for 10276 Colosseum. And that was not so fun.

Putting the two stand sections together with the playing field gives you an idea of how things are progressing. This “half-shell” amphitheater would almost work as a smaller display option, except for the exposed scaffolding under the seats. It wouldn’t be super difficult to custom build a “cover” for the sides if you wanted to, though. Designed by someone who's never actually seen Camp Nou? The colours are just so wrong! Mind you, a closer match to reality would have made for a *really* dull display piece. There are so many other stadia, and not just in football, that offer far more visual impact. Then, for anyone who is into their football, who does have more than a surface-level appreciation of the extra detail that has gone into the design here, 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona is another one of those very special LEGO sets to save up for and truly enjoy.
