One is sweet, one-dimensional, crushable, and heavy on grapefruit and not much else. The other is complex, well-balanced, and uses grapefruit to complement other flavors. Beer is an essential element of German culture and is intrinsic to its national identity, however this is not to say that there is a beer ‘monoculture’ within the country.
