About this deal

I own an X Terra 705 and an Equinox 800. I used to have an early Soveiern, which was the only Minelab that I found something good with. Experience ultra-fast wireless audio with the WM08, or use fast aptX Low Latency / Bluetooth headphones. Its outstanding performance and quality, coupled with the positive reputation of the Minelab brand, makes it one of the best there is today. As we’ve already mentioned, only Equinox 800 has this feature that enables the user to switch to the user’s search mode by just pushing one button.

It seems like Minelab have changed their technology. At least the EQX coils have become a bit more lightweight – sealed in a different way + lighter coil cover. Not a great weight loss, of course, but at any rate they started the ball rolling. Seemingly it’s the coil on a straight-as-a-rod shaft (and it’s neither more nor less than a rod) that gives an imbalance. Plus, the grip tilt angle can’t be adjusted at all.The Minelab Equinox 800 and the Garrett AT MAX are the big boy contenders for any detectorist and prospector. From Minelab’s Multi-IQ technology to the AT MAX’s maximum depth detection, the numerous features built into the progressive nature of these units. Furthermore, the AT MAX operating frequency is adjustable, making it easier to detect high and low conductivity metals. The Equinox 800 is a metal detector that has user-friendly and intuitive control settings that can help you enjoy the best experience hunting. It is lightweight as it weighs about 1.3 kg.

When it comes to performance across the board, the Equinox 800 is great. Our Australian soil isn’t the easiest to detect through but coin hunting for old pre-decimals is made simple by the Equinox’s park 1 search program. Generally speaking when coin hunting in Australia it’s possible to dig only targets which register consistently “20” or above on the Equinox’s screen and avoid a good amount of trash. This method will miss smaller or lower silver content coins but can be worth it in trashier areas to avoid digging as much trash. The crisp LCD display features large Target ID numbers so you can see your target ID at a glance. All of the information you need when detecting is right there in front of you.

Pleas excuse me for sending to you but you sounded like an experienced owner of an Equinox 800I`ve had a Nox 800 for a year now & enjoyed some great finds .but just recently it has started playing up & when switched on , it jumps straight to one mode only ,will not change & no other button responds. Anyways, I will never buy another Minelab. I dont like the company, nor thier behavior on thier forums. The Minelab Equinox 800 is surely mostly similar to the XP Deus. But what makes these two machines completely related is absence of aftermarket coils for them. In my personal opinion, one of these detectors which will have alternative coils available for sale first (at a considerably less price than the original) shall certainly carry all before one. Until then, we are where we are.

True intelligent Simultaneous Multi-Frequency for maximum performance, plus a wide range of single frequencies. To compensate, users would use minimal discrimination and add audio processes to analyse all targets under the coil, listening for non-ferrous targets amongst the iron. `Good’ users were those who could process all the sounds and recognise to diggable targets... brain power secondary processing! The 900 is built and designed, both physically and digitally similar to the 800. The menus and buttons are all familiar and there is no new detecting jargon to try to digest and understand. In that way, anyone who has used either an 800 or the 600 will really hit the ground running with the new machine. The EQUINOX is fully waterproof & submersible to (3m / 10-feet), ideal for detecting at the beach and in rivers, streams, and lakes.

Each mode comes with a specific tuning setting and tone pitch. The beach mode also features an underwater program that lets you, scout, for lost jewellery and coins at a maximum depth of 3 meters. The Multi-IQ technology. The Minelab Equinox 800 thrives thanks to this technology. It is its main selling point and highlight. It’s a simultaneous multi-frequency technology that can find any metal in any soil and at any time. It comes with five operating frequencies: 5, 10, 15, 20, 40 kHz. This is when it turned out that my hand felt quite comfortable in the armrest and it it was more narrow, I’d feel some discomfort. Menu The large crisp LED display is impressive and is very easy to read. The screen features large Target ID numbers so you can tell at a glance, with all the information right there, what your target is. We are certain that the DEUS 2 performed deeper than the Equinox 800 on all the targets tested in this wet sand environment. We experimented mainly with the “beach” and “beach sensitive” programs on the DEUS 2 and tried everything on the Equinox to try and keep up with it, like switching between beach1/2, maximising sensitivity, lowering recovery speed, turning iron bias down all the way and we also ensured that no segments were notched out"

Equinox 800 vs What you need to know about the Minelab Equinox 800 vs

This mode is made for beach hunting. Its main difference from the rest is that it has more sensitive ground balance function – salty sand, wet sand and surf zone (wet sand + salt). Both the Garrett AT Max and Equinox 800 come with an intuitive LCD screen that displays results and commands instantly and comfortably. Both screens provide clear and easy to view with the larger digits. All the information you need to search is right on the LCD screen. If you look at your swing rate and slow down, you can accurately target and maintain depth during detection. It is a different method of simultaneous multi-frequency metal detection. There are five frequencies that you can use simultaneously. You are not switching from one frequency to another for your detection, but two or more frequencies are being received, transmitted, and processed concurrently. So without much ado, let’s put these two metal detectors’ features head to head and find out which one you can choose between them. Search Modes With time and experience, you can slowly build up the skill required for an advanced metal detector. Fast recovery speed with accurate Target ID ensures you won't miss any valuable targets amongst the trash. EQUINOX 800 offers 5 single frequencies of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 40 kHz, giving an expanded 8-times range of 5 to 40 kHz.
