About this deal

Everyone has heard of Henry the Hoover, the Numatic vacuum cleaner made famous by his red colour and smiling face. But did you know Henry has a female companion called Hetty, who also goes by the name of the female Henry Hoover? She may not be as famous, but – like Henry – Hetty also has a reputation for being a reliable and consistent vacuum cleaner, which is something you know you get when you choose Numatic. Then there’s James, perfect for a professional job. Charles is a whizz at wet cleaning, whilst George makes carpet shampoo and deep cleaning a doddle. Don’t forget Henry Eco — tough on mess, high on energy efficiency — or Henry Cordless, whose whole-house runtime will never let you down. There are some missing features though. The James doesn’t have an automatic cable rewind system, you need to manually coil the cord at the top of the machine (see photo). It also doesn’t have the TriTex filtration system, so it’s not as suitable for people with allergies.

While the new additions are welcome, it can be confusing to know which is the best Numatic vacuum for your requirements. In addition to their suction capabilities, Henry Hoovers also offer a range of additional features to make cleaning even easier If you’re looking for a Henry for DIY jobs, then the Henry XL Plus could be a great option. It has a similar design to the regular Henry, but comes with a huge 15 litre capacity and long power cord. The XL Plus is generally a bit more expensive, but you get a lot for your money. Aside from the new filter, the Henry Micro has the same features as the standard Henry. These include a a 10 metre power cable, 9 litre capacity, cable rewind system and the AS1 stainless steel accessory kit. Henry and Hetty’s reliable, powerful, fuss-free cleaning has made them instantly recognised and universally trusted household icons. The ultimate all rounders.Another popular model in the Henry Hoover range is the Harry. While it has many of the same features, it’s specifically designed for people with pets (hence the paw print). British manufacturer Numatic International has expanded the Henry Hoover range over the years to provide their first vacuum cleaner with some much needed company. There’s now fourteen different products in the Henry range, including a number of different Henry Hoover names which make up the Henry Hoover family. There’s Hetty, who’s also known as the female Henry Hoover, as well as James, Harry, George and Charles, the latter two which are wet and dry vacuums. The James has many of the same features as the Henry. The eight litre dust capacity is one litre smaller, but it’s still one of the largest cylinders on the domestic market. It also has an A-rating for energy efficiency, HepaFlo bags and a number of accessories.

Harry has a large bag capacity but many similarities to Henry, he’s just got some extra pet tools that makes him an option if you have furry friends in your home. Aside from the cordless design, it has a 6 litre capacity (which is huge for a cordless), power boost mode, and HepaFlo bags. Like other Henry models, it comes with several tools, such as a crevice nozzle and dusting brush. The bagged design also means it could be a good choice for those with allergies. If you want the no-nonsense design of a Henry vacuum combined with the convenience of cordless, the HVB160 is an option to consider. It’s more expensive than the corded Henry and doesn’t have the longest run-time, but the strong suction and large capacity mean it’s much better suited to heavy cleaning than most cordless models.
