About this deal

The Lenovo Y25-25 covers more than 100% of sRGB and around 82% DCI-P3 which is decent for a high-refresh gaming monitor. But what we loved about it the most is that it is very accurate out of the box with a deltaE average of only 0.76. That’s fantastic for a monitor that isn’t branded for color-critical work but take note that it could vary between every unit. Colors are very saturated out of the box, and they present a cool appearance. Selecting the "Warm" monitor profile reduces these effects, but grayscales remain too bright and still show a slight blue tint. However, calibration can be worthwhile, since it results in almost flawless grayscale levels, and color reproduction is also good. Professional image editing is certainly still not recommended, but the given performance is sufficient for web graphics and hobby photographers.

Both GPU brands have compelling options for high-refresh 1080p gaming, so its always nice to have the option to use VRR no matter which GPU brand you use. Input lag is just around 3ms at 240Hz, so there is no need to worry about de-synced instances or delays while gaming. Thoughts on the Lenovo Y25-25 I understand that this laptop won't run anything at advertised 240Hz but I'd like to increase the refresh rate atleast a bit for web scrolling or simple games. I want to get that option and then see for myself that my computer starts burning. The Lenovo Y25-25 isn’t bigger than your average joe monitor at work or home, but we think that its massive stand is overdesigned compared to what it’s holding. The monitor needs almost ten inches of depth, while the wings of the base take up more than a foot of horizontal space on your desk. It’s always good to have a stable monitor, but Lenovo could have designed something more practical even if they wanted to add an aesthetic flair to the product. Lenovo promises a brightness of up to 400 nits. This value wasn't entirely reached in our measurements, and the panel only manages up to 386 cd/m² in some areas. For this, we had to make a lot of changes in the settings and increase contrast to the maximum. Users who activate the sRGB mode for better color reproduction will have to be content with 220 cd/m². Activating HDR mode doesn't result in higher brightness, but the processing of HDR signals is supported.

The Lenovo Legion Y25-25 meets high standards when it comes to gaming, but it can also be a good addition in the workplace. In addition to the high refresh rate of 240 Hz, a response time of only 1 millisecond (GtG) is also meant to ensure an optimal gaming performance with the Legion Y25-25. The panel shows fast response times in the test with the oscilloscope, but they are higher than advertised. The worst characteristic of the Lenovo Y25-25 is its very limited HDR performance which we know many will ignore. It’s a great buy at its current price point, and there are only a few better options in the market now. With the Legion Y25-25, Lenovo has a gaming monitor in its product range that aims to convince with its Full HD resolution, 240 Hz, AMD FreeSync, and fast response times. At 24.5 inches, it's one of the more compact models in this category. In comparison, all tested devices range from 0.1 (minimum) to 240 (maximum) ms. » 17% of all devices are better. Outside of that headline 240Hz figure, the 24.5in IPS panel can be deemed modest in most regards. A 1,920x1,080 full-HD resolution is routine at this screen size, brightness of up to 400-nits is the minimum requirement for entry-level DisplayHDR 400 certification, a basic contrast ratio of 1,000:1 is a hallmark of IPS tech, and though the manufacturer officially quotes a 1ms response time, the Y25-25 doesn't feel quite as nippy as TN-based competitors. You don’t get speakers with the Lenovo Y25-25, unlike the upper range variant of the Lenovo Y27-Q which has it on the base. We think it is fair that there are none included since this monitor is quite affordable for a 240Hz variant. Its also a known fact that its intended audience will most likely have headsets instead to help them focus in competitive gaming sessions. Display and Performance
