About this deal

When someone is thinking about buying the watch, I think the question is more related to how those with informed horology opinions feel about it. I see threads on forums all the time asking if this watch is any good and the comments are usually all over the place and honestly unhelpful. The worst comment of all is someone telling the poster that for the same money they could get a Seiko SNK or something such. That’s the worst response ever – this isn’t a decision based on value first. The hunt for a 40mm Sub case is a personal decision based on looks– you’re interested in the Invicta Pro Diver because of how it looks. You might be used to a battery-powered (“ quartz movement”) watch, but the fact is that most expensive and luxury watches use an automatic movement. The two most significant cons I faced were the almost non-existent luminosity and the rattling noise of the bracelet. Therefore, if you have an open budget and don’t mind spending a few more dollars on a diver watch, then you can consider the 24760 model. My distaste for Invicta goes way beyond them deciding to engage in the least creative segment of the entire industry. Unlike a dedicated and focused homage brand like Steinhart, Invicta has no shame in copying anything that is vaguely successful or currently in trend. This goes beyond the Submariner and ranges all the way from the Timex Weekender, which is ironically cheaper than the Invicta copy, to the Konstantin Chaykin.

The bracelet is decent for the price tag of the watch, but let’s take a closer look. The links are polished in the centered and brushed on the outside.Sellita is a Swiss movement manufacturer, so some people place a premium on that, and this may be why the 9937 models can’t be found for a cheap price anymore.

Great review, in my opinion: balanced, and tells you what you need to know to make your own mind up. I’ve bought one of these watches (Invicta 8926OB Pro Diver with the non-branded NH35A movement), because I’m rather anti-snobbish when it comes to brands (not all the time, I admit, but then I’m only human), and I suspected that one could get very acceptable quality for a fraction of the price of mid-to-high-end brands. Indeed, that is the case, in my experience (n=1). Initial readings from my timegrapher are as follows (fully-wound, of course):I have to admit that a 40mm size is a tad too small for my personal taste (my wrist measures 7.3in). I prefer watches that stay anywhere between 42-44mm. Of course, it’s a matter of taste, and mine leans towards the bigger end of the specter. So, ignore my biased opinion here and try out yourself.
