I had been wanting to try out a Massage or Muscle Gun for a while now as I wanted to see if they actually worked and to see why all these athletes I watched on television were using or endorsing them. Well I got sent the Hypervolt Go 2 and after testing it out I am really not surprised. Everything about the device feels premium whether it be the gun itself, the design, the smaller accessories it comes with, the instructions, and the box it comes in.(The same can be said of the Hyperice Venom Go which I also loved - it got five stars in my review) We measured the sound with the attachments fixed properly and we got 45 to about 54-55 dB. Hypervolt Go noise measurement (around 55dB at top speed). Stroke Length: Hypervolt Go doesn’t bring much to the table when it comes to the amplitude. Its 10mm stroke length is good, but that’s about it. Actually, anything larger than that would be a waste because of the device’s low stall force.

The New Hypervolt Go 2 Massage Gun Is an Improved Recovery Tool

That is the end of our Hypervolt Go 2 review. In the end, we have to say it looks sleek, but that’s largely due to the new color. However, it feels more like a minor redesign than a serious upgrade. While both massage guns are designed for a similar use, the brands definitely went about it in different ways. The Hypervolt Go has a traditional gun-like shape, while the Theragun Mini has a handheld, triangular design. (The Hypervolt Go also advertises that its design is TSA-approved for carry-on, but countless Theragun Mini users have flown with their massager without any issues.) If you were thinking of hitting your glutes, quads, or hamstring with pressure in hope for a deep percussive massage, this device will disappoint you. There’s just one problem, a good enough amplitude is nothing without enough stall force. And this is where the Go falls terribly short. Most mini guns we have tested have 7-8mm head travel. With 10mm the Go actually falls under the elite category of mini massage guns. When it came to the initial versions, the original Hypervolt Go had Theragun beat, granted the first generation Theragun Mini only came with one attachment head. With the Mini 2.0, however, you get three foam attachments for a more personalized experience (a dampener, a standard ball, and a thumb) as opposed to the Hypervolt Go 2’s two interchangeable attachments (a flat head and bullet head). Smart Guidance With An App If you’re looking for more attachments or more speed settings than the Hypervolt Go 2 has to offer, you might want to explore some more advanced options. The Go is small, portable and compact, but it’s a tad shy from being the perfect mini-gun. Compared to mini massage guns like the Ekrin Bantam or the Addsfit Mini Pro, the Go is noticeably larger. The Go 2 looks like a nice complementary Hypervolt if you already have the bigger devices (the attachments on those can fit on the Go).

Hyperice Hypervolt 2 - Featuring Quiet Glide Technology

Below, you’ll find our hands-on video where we unbox the Hypervolt, show off its attachments, and test its stall force on each speed gear. We even put it head-to-head with the Ekrin Bantam. It’s a bit disappointing that a highly priced massage gun only comes with two attachments. We have reviewed several mini devices that come with at least 3 attachments, some even 4. When the attachments are mounted appropriately, this gun is decently quiet. Just like the bigger Hypervolts, the Go is impressively hushed. In this respect, the Go outshines the Theragun Mini which is considerably loud. The Hyperice Hypervolt Go 2 is one of our favorite massage guns due to the relatively low price for the top quality, and the fact that it’s extremely portable. The handle is angled and wrapped in rubber for you to achieve a solid grip without experiencing too much wrist and hand fatigue during usage. The plastic used for the build feels really sturdy and durable enough to last you many years, while handling some bumps and bruises along the way. It only weighs 1.5 pounds, and the dimensions are small enough for it to fit in a bag to take on a trip. Materials We measured the decibel levels and got 45dB (first speed) and 55dB (third speed). Our testing environment and noise measurement of Go 2: indeed, it’s a quiet massager. The battery has a bit more capacity than the previous Go. That explains the added weight and the larger body.

The Normatec Arm Attachments provide a dynamic air compression massage all the way from your shoulders to your fingertips. Finally, in ergonomics expect a handle that is pretty much the same as the one on the original Go. It’s slightly slanted, which is great; you can hold it naturally and there’s reduced fatigue on your wrist. On paper, this kind of setup is very good for the job, but as we mentioned above, the Go 2 has a tendency to slowing down percussions under even little pressure – and we find it pretty unfortunate. In our tests, the Hypervolt Go 2 reaches 3200 RPM at its third gear but slows down under pressure.Hyperice in their advertising video claimed that they wanted to make the Go 2 “as powerful as possible, in the smallest possible form factor.” One reviewer wrote: “While nothing is as coveted as the original TheraGun when it comes to percussive massage tools, this one is a great budget-friendly alternative. I cannot BELIEVE how quiet it is.”
