Hi Brian, as far as I know there is no way to change the software. Also please note that the boundary wire and pegs vary depending on the model number. As with all mowers, the blades are consumables. This mower has 3 razor-type blades that pivot on the main spinning axis to allow them to recoil. It is possible to sharpen these blades — they are also easy and inexpensive to replace.
