The liquids are of a quality at worst equal with septic tank overflow and usually much much better. Above all the liquid has not had occasion to turn anaerobic and so is only as fragrant as it was when it left the house, and thus is ideal for open treatment systems such as vertical flow reed beds.Strong and sturdy, with an easy-to-clean shiny surface, this urine diverter is the outcome of extensive research into the most effective way of diverting urine away from the solids, for both male and female users. The material polypropylene (PP) is insensitive to acidic cleaning agents and very resistant overall. This is why using a urine diverter is so important! In terms of volume reduction and nutrient reconcentration, use of urine collected from toilets for DCMD performs admirably. 18 More than 97% of P and K rejection was achieved when hydrolyzed urine was concentrated 17.8 times. Nevertheless, the NH 3 concentration was increased to 11.0 g N L −1, so the water generation quality was affected. An NH 3 concentration in urine is frequently high in the process of recovering water from urine, and nutrients' concentration, and this resulted in free NH 3 transfer through the MD membrane to the permeate. The principle of a UDDT is simplicity itself! Breaking down the term ‘urine-diverting dry toilet’ into its component parts tells us a lot: The particularly smooth surface allows dirt to almost roll off. This provides improved protection against urine flowing into the solid waste container. Traditional septic systems mix many liters of water into our feces, reducing the possibility of natural decomposition. More importantly, the groundwater, springs, and wells can be easily contaminated with bacteria this way.If the toilet is to be used in winter, outdoor pipes must have a diameter of at least 40 mm (1,6”). In conventional camping toilets, chemicals are added a) to suppress nasty smells, b) as disinfectant, c) to break down excrement and toilet paper, and d) to make emptying the holding tank easier. One thing that is vital when using your compost toilet is that you’ll want to work to keep urine out of the compost at all costs. If the compost gets wet, anaerobic bacteria will start to grow in your compost. If disaster strikes and you don’t have an emergency toilet, then it will really be a SHTF situation! Finally, we offer friendly discounts and giveaways very often. Sometimes we have urine separators with aesthetic imperfections without any functional problems, they are just not as aesthetically pleasing. We also provide support to groups and individuals in their projects and we do different collaborations.
