About this deal

Designed for new central heating systems, the Sentinel X300 cleanser flushes out flux installation debris from new indirect central heating systems. This prepares the system for the addition of an inhibitor, which will protect the system components and prolong their effective life and is essential for the prevention of sludge and scale build up. Emulsifiers in the liquid assist in the removal of grease and oils from new radiators. Dispersants lift insoluble flux, metal fillings and dust from the system. A single 1 litre bottle should be plenty to dose about 8 to 10 panels in your radiators. It can be added easily using a dosing vessel or the adaptor supplied. Ensure the system is filled before adding the X300. It is recommended that Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner is used in accordance with standard cleaning and commissioning protocols such as BSRIA Guide “Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems” or similar Water Treatment Guidelines from industry organisations such as the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association (ICOM). If a system has not been cleaned prior to use, all of the aforementioned issues for new systems will be present, with the installation debris causing issues and damage to the system. How does it work? Acts as an emulsifier for oils and greases and a dispersant to lift and suspend particulate debris. Holds contamination in suspension ready for flushing. The circulation pump of the system can be used to circulate the Sentinel X300 Cleaner for New Systems solution; however equipment which provides a more rapid circulation can provide a more effective clean. When using an external cleaning rig, the product can be dosed directly to the buffer tank of the rig (follow equipment manufacturer’s instructions).

To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593, this product should be circulated (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow) for a minimum period of 2 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. Use in conjunction with a powerflushing device to achieve a more rapid clean. Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner should be circulated, preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow for a minimum period of 3 hours. As for new systems, X300 Cleaner for New Systems is designed to target installation and manufacture debris and contaminants. Once cleaned, it will passivate the metal surfaces and prevent copper deposition. Sealed Systems: If the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling. If full, use a Sentinel Dosing Vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point.Apply to: Remove residual flux, grease, oil and manufacturing & installation debris in systems under six months old Not sure what cleaner is best for the job? We’ve created a handy cleaner comparison to help you choose the right cleaner for your system. X300 Cleaner for New Systems is designed to target excess flux residues, greases, and oils in addition to installation debris and sludge. Not only this, but X300 passivates the metal surfaces and helps to prevent copper deposition, a common cause of pinhole corrosion in radiators. Ideally, the product should be added at the first filling of the system. The water should then be circulated at normal operating temperatures for 2 hours before being flushed out. If you are using cold water, leave to circulate for 24 hours. Powerflushing is not necessary when using this product. The system I’m dealing with is not new, but is less than 6 months old External flushing rig: Feed the product in an area of adequate flow in the buffer tank. Follow the machine manufacturer’s instructions.

What next? Add Sentinel X100 inhibitor, to prevent corrosion and the build-up of limescale, the main causes of central heating and boiler inefficiency. If it is not possible to heat the water, the circulation time should be extended to at least 24 hours. After cleaning, the system should be drained and flushed until the water runs clear. On refilling, the system should be treated with Sentinel X100 Inhibitor or Sentinel X500 Inhibited Antifreeze. Why? Removes potentially damaging contaminants and restores system effectiveness, reducing future breakdowns and increasing system life. Unrivalled chemical technology reduces circulation time to just 1 hour. When using concentrate gel, add directly to the heating system either via a radiator air bleed valve, or via the fill loop using the appropriate adaptor and a suitable caulk gun. Where systems are badly fouled, we recommend a longer circulation period (approximately 3-4 weeks). The product is not aggressive and can be safely left in the system for extended periods.

Recommended dosage: 1 litre of X800 is sufficient to treat a typical domestic system of up to 10 radiators. For maximum performance circulate from 1-24 hours.X800 is non-aggressive and can be left in the system over 24 hours, however this may cause debris to re-settle reducing effectiveness. Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner should normally be dosed at 1% of system volume, i.e. 1 litre per 100 litres of system water. For systems with severe fouling, the dosage rate can be increased up to 5%.To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593 it is recommended that this product is used withpowerflushing equipment. In this scenario, administer Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner via thepowerflushing equipment, following theequipment manufacturer's instructions. Alternatively, circulate theproduct (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned tomaximum flow) for a minimum period of 1 hour or until satisfactory performance is restored. The circulation pump of the system can be used to circulate the Sentinel X400 System Restorer solution; however equipment which provides a more rapid circulation can provide a more effective clean. When using an external cleaning rig, the product can be dosed directly to the buffer tank of the rig (follow equipment manufacturer’s instructions). Why? Contamination from the manufacturing and installation processes can accelerate corrosion of new components. According to UK Building Regulations Part L Domestic Heating Compliance Guide, a central heating system should be thoroughly cleaned and flushed out before the installation of a new boiler. Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner eliminates magnetite and limescale deposits from heat exchangers, radiators, underflor heating floors and pipework. It restores more uniform distribution of heat in existing installations, for a better heated home and reduced energy bills.
