About this deal

There are however exceptions to this. For example artificial light that is used at football pitches to help the grass grow during the night. Poster 6 was developed by Dr. Blake Meyers, Dr. Junpeng Zhan and Dr. R. Keith Slotkin from the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, USA. Transferred into the graphical representation by Dr. Dmitry Shevela (SciGrafik), Sweden. Inside the plant cell are small organelles called chloroplasts, which store the energy of sunlight. Within the thylakoid membranes of the chloroplast is a light-absorbing pigment called chlorophyll, which is responsible for giving the plant its green color. During photosynthesis, chlorophyll absorbs energy from blue- and red-light waves, and reflects green-light waves, making the plant appear green. Use this poster as a display resource for your Year 4 or Year 5 science display wall. How Does This Resource Support the Australian Curriculum?

Students can learn about how photosynthesis occurs in a leaf through this colourful and informative poster. This all happens in the leaves of plants that contain very small cells. In these cells, there are small structures called chloroplasts, and inside these is where you'll find the chlorophyll. This is what makes plants look green.

During the day carbon dioxide diffuses into the leaf through the stomata which is needed for photosynthesis. Most organisms rely on photosynthesis for nutrients, either directly (plants) or indirectly (by relying on plants as an energy source). Organisms that undergo photosynthesis are called photoautotrophs. Photoautotrophs sustain themselves by synthesising their own food from carbon dioxide and other raw materials, and are referred to as the biosphere’s “ producers”. In contrast, heterotrophs sustain themselves by relying on the material produced by other organisms and are referred to as the “ consumers”. Humans are an example of heterotrophs. Our Poster Maker guarantees that you’ll make the most intuitive and well-designed scientific posters in a single session. Make the best scientific posters within minutes today! You can spruce up your display even more using this ‘Plants’ Display Lettering. This lovely lettering is great for spelling out words and headings. Better yet, it comes in an editable version that allows you to change it up however you like. The sparse but surgically precise use of text here contrasts the lush use of plants to explain photosynthesis.

If photosynthesis is happening, the gas collected in the tube over the last 30 minutes should be oxygen. If it is oxygen, it will re-light this glowing splint. Photosynthesis occurs in plants, phytoplankton (algae) and cyanobacteria. These organisms are capable of converting light energy into glucose. Why is photosynthesis important? Not all forms of photosynthesis are created equal, however. There are different types of photosynthesis, including C3 photosynthesis and C4 photosynthesis. C3 photosynthesis is used by the majority of plants. It involves producing a three-carbon compound called 3-phosphoglyceric acid during the Calvin Cycle, which goes on to become glucose. C4 photosynthesis, on the other hand, produces a four-carbon intermediate compound, which splits into carbon dioxide and a three-carbon compound during the Calvin Cycle. A benefit of C4 photosynthesis is that by producing higher levels of carbon, it allows plants to thrive in environments without much light or water. Photosynthesis is the process through which a plant creates its own energy using sunlight. To go into a bit more detail, plants use sunlight to synthesise the nutrients they collect from carbon dioxide and water to make a kind of sugar called glucose.

A scientific poster should include an easy-to-follow layout, graphics and color schemes that don’t take away from the reading experience. Successful scientific posters also use short sentences, simple language and bullet points. How do you write a good scientific poster? Poster 2 was developed by Dr. Dmitry Shevela, Prof. Govindjee and Prof. Lars Olof Björn from Lund University, Sweden.People usually don’t have time to stop and read a poster. In a school or office, everyone’s walking to do something urgently. Venngage offers 40,000 icons and illustrations to help you visualize and bring a scientific poster to life.
