Food coloring. Feel free to use food coloring to dye white chocolate and drizzle on top or to dip the cookie in. Combine the dry ingredients– In a separate bowl, combine the spooned & leveled all-purpose flour, the baking soda, and salt. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture –Slowly mix the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and blend the ingredients together until everything is moistened. Add the Oreos on top of the brownie batter then cover with the rest of the batter. We are using whole Oreos and some sliced-in-half Oreos for this step. Start making the cookie dough –Beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy. Add in the granulated sugar and the brown sugar and beat until combined. This will take roughly 3-4 minutes.

Dip. Drop the Oreo balls into the chocolate and roll it around in the dish coating the entire ball. Using a fork, lift the ball out and tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. Candy melts are different from chocolate chips or chocolate bars. They are a chocolate flavored ingredient that melts beautifully and comes in a variety of colors. If the white chocolate in the piping bag starts to harden up, put it onto a paper plate and microwave for 15-20 seconds or until the chocolate is melted. After you melt one of the colors of candy melts or chocolate, drop an Oreo in and cover it completely. Use a fork to lift out and give it a little shake to remove the excess drips coming off the bottom.

Put the finished Oreos on wax or parchment paper to dry. Doing so will allow you to remove them easily. You can get your little kids to help you decorate each cute treat the way they want giving them a sense of independence and allowing them to create core memories with you. My kids and I made these on a rainy afternoon and had so much fun. If your kids are like mine, they have a short attention span.
