The MOZA Racing SR-P Lite Pedal set is a 2 Pedal Set featuring both the accelerator and brake pedal. Moza is still new to the scene compared to the big names like Logitech and Thrustmaster, but I’m glad they’re here. By comparison, the CSL DD and GT DD Pro have a slight underlying sensation of grain as you rotate the wheel. Although you really have to pay attention to notice it. We mounted the R5 to both the Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 and the Trak Racer FS3. The R5 could be mounted using all four threads thanks to its mounting plate, whereas the Wheel Stand 2.0 only lined up with two. The SR-P Lite Pedals included in the R5 bundle are without doubt the weak point. They will be the first thing more serious racers will want to upgrade. Other position based pedals such as the CSL Pedals from Fanatec and even the pedals included with Logitech’s G923 do a good job at providing the driver with progressive resistance throughout the brake pedal stroke. This allows the driver to better modulate their inputs threshold and trail brake. Resulting in faster and more consistent lap times. Depending on what sim-racing titles you are playing, there may be some additional setup required. To get up and running in Forza Horizon 5, for example, some configuration files need to be manually added to the game folders before the wheel will be recognized inside of the game. Considering how easy it is to get up and running with the Logitech gear, it’s a bit of a bummer to have these extra steps on the Moza setup. There’s almost not as much else to say when it comes to the overall feeling, as the R5 does pretty much what it says on the tin, which is a good thing. Paying a premium for more torque sometimes doesn’t appear to be the best call for some users, but perhaps having a touch of headroom would be good to enable some smaller, yet stronger sensations. Beyond additional pedals and wheel mods, the Moza Racing ecosystem is growing. Moza also sells a handbrake and seven-speed plus reverse shifter. Considering the young age of Moza, it really makes you realize how slow Logitech has been in this space. Thrustmaster has always been a great big-name option with lots of choices, but despite Logitech being such a big player it’s been really slow to develop and release more sim-racing products.Since that first sim racing video, I’ve had a blast diving deeper into the virtual racing world, though to really be competitive I’d have to dedicate a lot more time. I play more casually so I’ve been enjoying ACC campaigns, Forza Horizon 5, and drifting in Assetto Corsa. I am really looking forward to the new Forza Motorsport and plan on sinking some serious hours into that title when it releases in October. Their all steel construction is strong and sturdy, they can be used on carpet or solid floors, and overall feel is good. But the brake is a let down even at this price point. So, what about the user experience. As stated above, the R9 is more than powerful enough for most users and provides ample detail too. Despite it being a weighty bit of kit, it's not huge and will happily sit on most rigs without issue. The included software is more than capable of setting the base up to how you like it though may not be the most intuitive software ever. You'll need to have a play to get it where you want it though there are plenty of videos and guides to help with this. I have no doubt you could learn to be fast with these.
