About this deal

The building has two floors below the cornice and parapet with a third floor above and windows at the level of the entablature. A central chimney rises above the level of the roof. The information on housing, people, culture, employment and education that is displayed about Jesse Hartley Way, Liverpool, L3 0AY is based on the last census performed in the UK in 2021. Hartley, of Lyman, was initially arrested in 2018 after the death of Green, the child of Hartley’s then-girlfriend. Hartley was babysitting Green at the time and called 911 reporting he had found the toddler face down in the bathtub. However, an examination in the emergency room at Evanston Regional Hospital and a subsequent autopsy revealed extensive injuries inconsistent with Hartley’s claims.

In the competition that preceded this appointment Mr. Jesse Hartley became acquainted with the late Albinus Martin, M. Inst. C.E., also a candidate, and the friendship thus formed extended to the son, and became firm and lasting through life. So not only did he change the face of Liverpool; his works continued to influence the shape of the city’s regeneration in the 1980s, and arguably into the new millennium.

Jesse in his early years created a significant CV for himself, with examples of his bridge building being found in Ireland and other parts of the UK, still existing today. So who exactly did Liverpool get? Sir James Picton, a famous Liverpool individual and keen observer of Hartley, described him as:Mr Hollister-Jones said Hiku was the "fresh-faced" lure whose role was to extract Mr Kimura from the house as well as act as physical reinforcement for Neketai. His reception was most enthusiastic; balconies were erected along the line of procession, and these and the windows of houses were filled with gay and animated parties. There was a most brilliant display of flags, banners & c. [sic]. All business is suspended. There are 200,000 strangers in town, and all the inhabitants are in the streets. All is gaiety and splendour. ( The Pictorial Times, 1846). [13] then new bridge, by Thomas Harrison of Chester, and the new canal aqueduct, by John Rennie (the elder), over the River Lune.
