One thing you can expect from a larger board like this is stability–an important quality for beginners. The Chasing Blue would be great for newbies of all sizes. I found it super stable and rigid (I’m a guy, 6’1, 189 lbs). Size is key. It’s all about your height, weight, skill level, and what you plan on doing. Here’s how you choose the right size cheap paddle board: It can accommodate up to 275 pounds and only weighs 17 pounds. This is a great paddle board for beginners and young paddlers who are looking to get started with SUP. It sounds counter-intuitive, but if you have the luxury of being able to store your inflatable paddleboard inflated, then you should. The more you fold up a paddleboard, or the longer it's stored with creases in it, then the more likely it is to get damaged and develop small holes and tears. Lastly, iSUPs are durable.
