About this deal

Sonic 1 Debug Mode code: Once you have activated Level Select and have access to the Sound Test, play the following in sequence: 01, 09, 09, 01, 00, 06, 02, 03. If successful, you'll hear a 'ring collected' sound effect. Now select any stage. Sonic 2 Level Select code: On the title screen, press Up x3, Down x3, Left, Right, Left, Right to hear a sound effect, then press any button. (Note: though Hidden Palace Zone is listed, it is inaccessible unless you access it via concentional means first. The previous link explains how to do this, if you fancy discovering a cut stage from the original game!)

Many games added in Sonic Origins Plus are just Game Gear ports of Master System titles. Even the games that share names with Sonic and Tails' original introduction have completely different levels than you're familiar with. There are also different features at play. For example, the first zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 features railcar sections. That makes seeing these levels exciting to experience the first time, even if it doesn’t feel as good as the original console games. Classic and Anniversary Modes: Spin Dash your way through numerous zones in Classic mode with the game’s original resolution and limited lives, or the new Anniversary Mode with unlimited lives in revamped widescreen HD. Sonic 3 Level Select code: On the title screen, press Up x2, Down x2 then Up x4. Now, on the menu screen, press down twice until the Sound Test menu appears. Within here you'll find the Level Select screen. I have tried to run a version on my jail broken Mega Drive Mini just last night, but the emulation doesn’t seem very good. I have a 1 second delay when pressing buttons. I’m going to try a few things to see if I can fix that, as I’d like to play a nice version. If anyone has any tips, let me know. Most are based on the Mega Drive (or Genesis) originals, and work in a similar way, while others offer new features - such as the ability to toggle new abilities and rules into the original Sonic.

Classic and Anniversary Modes

To play this game on PS5, your system may need to be updated to the latest system software. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent. See PlayStation.com/bc for more details. The dreamcast was an amazing console and very innovative in so many ways. But the problem was Sega itself. They just didn’t have the hard assets to support it. It was a last hurrah. If you don’t have Sonic Origins in any form, this collection is definitely the version to get for its value, but it feels like a missed opportunity in its current state. I love most of these games a lot, and even enjoyed experiencing many of the Game Gear games for the first time as a curiosity, but this collection should’ve been better and more polished. The Game Gear games also have some audio issues and no options to adjust the display or scaling. The games with two player support even have those versions listed separately for some reason. I feel like the descriptions for the Game Gear games need to be updated to fix some errors as well. Sega did add the ability to save and load your save during these games though. Barring that, I found no way to adjust the visuals or do anything else. Amy is officially playable in the original games for the first time with the Plus expansion, which is awesome. She feels great to play, as if she always belonged here. That said, the other content added with the Plus version brings a collection of games not many will want to see. Sonic 3 Debug Mode code: Once you have activated Level Select and have access to the Sound Test, play the following in sequence: 01, 09, 09, 04, 01, 00, 01, 08. If successful, you'll hear a 'ring collected' sound effect. Now select any stage.

I also would've liked if they offered a third mode where we could customize the settings from Anniversary and Classic modes to our liking, e.g., widescreen--on, ininite lives--off, etc. Maybe they'll eventually release an update similar to the Encore DLC for Mania. Sonic 3 Super Sonic code: Once you have activated Level Select and have access to the Sound Test, play the following in sequence: 04, 01, 02, 06. If successful, you'll hear an 'emerald collected' sound effect. During the game, collect 50 rings then press the jump button while in mid-air to activate. But as a consequence of Sega’s dire condition with the Dreamcast they pretty much told their studios to make whatever they wanted for it and the Naomi arcade board (basically a Dreamcast with extra RAM). So we got some really weird unorthodox great games out of the situation. Like Seaman, Crazy Taxi, and Typing of the Dead. Games that would have never been approved in prior years of Sega.Sonic 2 Super Sonic code: Once you have activated Level Select and have access to the Sound Test, play the following in sequence: 04, 01, 02, 06. If successful, you'll hear an 'emerald collected' sound effect. During the game, collect 50 rings then press Triangle on PlayStation / Y on Xbox / X on Switch in mid-air to activate.

Killed the Saturn way too early in Japan. Yeah it was dead in Europe and the US by 1997 but it was still selling very well in Japan even into 1999. Then they killed it. Which is insane because the Saturn was OUTSELLING the Dreamcast in Japan when the DC launched in holiday of 1998. With that out of the way, more on how to input cheats for each individual game... Sonic 1 cheat codes for Level Select, Debug Mode and all Chaos Emeralds Explore the classic Sonic titles in high-resolution, with all-new opening and ending animations for each title! The long-lost Hidden Palace Zone, brought to life by the talented hands that created the fantastic levels of Sonic Mania, is like my childhood imagination made manifest Despite there being the usual selection of cheats in the original - such as Level Select and a Debug Mode - there is no such option seemingly available in this version.Players will be able to revisit the iconic early Sonic games in a number of modes, including 'Classic Mode' which keeps the majority of the game’s original challenges and presentation, 'Anniversary Mode' which offers a full-screen display and infinite lives, 'Missions, Medallions and Museum' mode where players can put their skills to the test in the form of various missions, and 'Better Than Ever' mode which contains remastered versions of all four games. What follows is all confirmed Sonic 2 cheat codes which will work with the Sonic Origins version of the game.
