The updated Hogwarts modular system has proven somewhat divisive, although both 76386 Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake and 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets have definitely provoked positive responses. 76387 Hogwarts: Fluffy Encounter seems less successful in my opinion, particularly because the arrangement of different sections is inefficient. Finally, here are the two Hospital Wings closer together. The side tables and lamps share some design features, while the beds are entirely different and even a different colour, with the older set using sand green bedding. Hogwarts: Fluffy Encounter shares some interesting similarities with 4706 Forbidden Corridor, representing exactly the same location and integrating certain consistent functions. Of course, the most notable continuity between them is the presence of Fluffy, although his appearance has changed dramatically since 2001. Minifigures Numerous memorable subjects have appeared frequently throughout the LEGO Harry Potter theme. However, the secure third-floor corridor remains noticeably uncommon, only appearing twice since this impressive range was launched twenty years ago.

Includes an exclusive, golden Hermione Granger™ minifigure to celebrate 20 years of magic with LEGO® Harry Potter™. Also includes 2 random wizard card tiles for kids to collect (16 in total). Even across these initial builds, there were already some idiosyncrasies and shortcomings present: for instance, the door section of 76395 Hogwarts First Flying Lesson doesn’t follow these rules, and the Chamber of Secrets module has a bit of Great Hall interior attached to it, making it awkward on the interior to attach anything other than the Great Hall module. It seems bizarre beyond the context of the set’s otherwise empty third-floor corridor, however, and therefore in any potential play scenario that doesn’t involve cramming the pooch into that confined space. A separate set of interchangeable heads would have worked much better, even if it did bump the price up ever so slightly. Put Harry Potter magic into kids’ hands with 3 popular minifigures – Harry Potter, Ron Weasley™ and Hermione Granger™ – and Fluffy, the giant, 3-headed Hogwarts dog. Fluffy’s legs can be placed into a range of positions and each of the 3 movable heads shows a different expression. The set comprises 5 separate modules that connect in a variety of ways: a large room with a trap door; magic-practice room; rooftop; balcony room; and a room containing the tangled tentacles of the Devil’s Snare plant. There are other surprises too: an exclusive, golden, anniversary Hermione Granger minifigure, 2 random wizard card tiles, and the chance to add more rooms to create an entire Hogwarts Castle model.Neither of those layouts is ideal, which means you really need to combine this with both 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets and 76386 Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake to make the most of what’s on offer. When this model is displayed as the instructions recommend, the opening trapdoor becomes useless. Thankfully, each section may be reconfigured to situate the trapdoor over the Devil's Snare, as demonstrated below. That arrangement is great for play, although the Devil's Snare appears disappointing because the plant should have been substantially larger and integrated greater detail.

Young witches and wizards will enjoy endless magical fun with LEGO® Harry Potter™ Hogwarts™: Fluffy Encounter (76387). This reconfigurable playset features favourite characters, familiar locations and a 3-headed dog for 3 times the fun! Fluffy was represented by a specialised component with extremely limited articulation during 2001, reflecting LEGO's method of depicting animals throughout that period. This design has been completely overhauled, hence the creature now consists primarily of standard elements. Only the heads are formed using specialised components, which look brilliant. This component is shared with the celebratory versions of Harry and Ron, available in 76386 Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake and 76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit, respectively. I would prefer completely distinct decorations, although the exclusive heads and hair elements assure sufficient variation between characters. Each minifigure is connected to a golden display base and carries a pearl gold wand.

Next we went for a compact Hogwarts making use of the Hospital Wing’s ability to hinge in two places, creating three attached segments of 8×8, 8×16 and 8×24 studs. This arrangement looks a bit haphazard, but we’re just demonstrating what is possible. Now let’s start putting more modules together. In the configuration below, we’ve kept the sections we mentioned earlier together, with the Great Hall above the Chamber of Secrets, the Forbidden Corridor above the Devil’s Snare, and the bathroom above the chute down to the chamber. While the hospital wing does not belong on Hogwarts’ lowest level, achieving locational accuracy is neither the point of this system nor really a possibility at all, and this configuration looks surprisingly good to us.

Upon discovering that somebody is attempting to seize the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and his friends enter the underground chambers to protect it. The minifigure features a familiar tousled hair component and his double-sided head is common as well, appearing in fifteen sets since 2018. This design remains effective, but an alternative would be appreciated. LEGO® Harry Potter™ toys contain favourite characters, amazing creatures and familiar locations from the popular movies. They’re an ideal gift for any child wanting to be part of the movie magic. LEGO® Harry Potter™ Hogwarts™: Fluffy Encounter (76387) has everything a Harry Potter fan could want: favourite characters, familiar Hogwarts locations and a thrilling, 3-headed dog. Moreover, placing the balcony structure underground seems strange, although that becomes unnecessary after combining this model with others. Once again, the interior seems relatively sparse and recalls 4706 Forbidden Corridor, including two flaming torches which are mounted on the wall. While the balcony seems adequate, perhaps these pieces could have created the entrance for the Chamber of Winged Keys instead. This toy is one of a series of authentically detailed modular sets that kids can build, combine and rearrange to create their own Hogwarts™ Castle model. In any case, these minor oddities don’t prevent all the modules being arranged however you like, and 2022 brings even more variety into the system. 76401 Hogwarts Courtyard: Sirius’s Rescue and 76402 Hogwarts: Dumbledore’s Office, both to be released in June 2022, will introduce corner modules, while 76398 Hogwarts Hospital Wing provides the ability to hinge Hogwarts in one, two, or three sections. Additionally, the heroes wear casual clothes when entering the underground chambers during the movie, although their Hogwarts robes are worn upon initially encountering Fluffy. However, the presence of all three characters is welcome, completed with Hermione Granger. As usual, her hair piece looks marvellous and each minifigure wields an appropriate dark brown, reddish brown or dark tan wand.
