In Cars, when Sheriff puts Mater in charge of watching Lightning McQueen during his sentence of community service for a night, the two sneak off to go tractor tipping in Frank's fields. Once there, Mater instructs Lightning on how to play, by driving up quietly to a tractor and honking his horn. The sudden noise woke the tractor up, causing her to tip over in confusion. The neon lights on top of the canopy at Flo's V8 Café fire in the same pattern as a 1932 Ford V8 Flathead.

Lightning and Ramone were watching Flo perform. Lightning asks Ramone how the two fell in love and Ramone starts his story. In the story, the Motorama Girls came to Radiator Springs from Detroit, Michigan after their chaperone broke down. While she was being fixed, they decide to have some fun with the townsfolk. They drank oil with Sarge and Fillmore, they danced the conga, and they got water sprayed on themselves by Red. Then they come to Ramone's where Ramone gives them some paint jobs. Finally, on the last car, Ramone dropped his airbrush in awe. Flo asks, "What's the matter? You're too good to paint me?" Ramone said, "No, baby. You're too good for me to paint. I can't touch a classic." The next day, the Motorama Girls leave while Flo decides to stay behind. Lightning asks how Ramone knew she was the one. Ramone replied, "You just know, man. You just know." Meanwhile, Flo finishes performing. In Cars: Radiator Springs Adventures, they appear in the game Tractor Roundup. The goal is to tip all the tractors, or they will get loose and drive all over town. In Cars: The Video Game, they only appear in Tractor Tipping. The goal is to tip all the tractors before time runs out, and try to avoid getting caught by Frank or the lamps. Frank is not seen in the actual film of Cars 2. He does, however, reappear in Cars 2: The Video Game. Mater mentions Frank to Jeff Gorvette, Carla Veloso, and your character at the opening of the Canyon Race. Frank appears in almost all of the Radiator Springs levels. In races, Frank (who's behind a fence) roars at cars who race pass him. Frank also appears in most Hunter and Arena Modes. If you get too close to Frank, then he will fling you up in the air with his blades and cause damage to an agent.

Frank is painted maroon, featuring slight rust and dirt. All of his other features, including his ring, horns, and combine blade, are all painted in a dark shade of grey. Frank is an XXL MetroActual Combine, which resembles a Case IH Axial-Flow 7010 Combine, Massey Ferguson 31XP, Fahr M1600 Hydromat and Bizon Z060 Gigant. He has a large blade attached to his front, used for cutting crops, and can supposedly cut cars to pieces, although the only evidence of this was seen in one of Lightning McQueen's dreams, and the blade will only slightly bump the player in Cars: The Videogame and Cars: Mater-National Championship. Attached to his roof are two horns, and his nose features a ring, making him closely resemble a bull, much like his behavior. There is promotional material for Frank’s cars 3 design, though he never actually appears in the third movie.Many characters and places in the movie are directly inspired by real Route 66 places and people. To quote the Pixar crew: He also appears in Cars Mater-National Championship. Basically, Frank has the same role that he did in Cars: The Video Game. You tip tractors, and try to stay away from Frank. You'll also get caught if you go too fast on gravel for a long time. In the end scene for the last level, Frank finds Mater and Lightning and chases them before they are soon trapped between him and a fence. Lightning, however, uses a horn (which is strange because he didn't have one in the film and the prequel game; he just revved his engine), and Frank actually tips over. Lightning and Mater then laugh at this. This was the only time when Frank tips over like a tractor. In Planes, some tractors appear on the fields during Dusty's training montage. When Ishani is later talking to Dusty in India, a tractor passes them. During their journey to the Taj Mahal, they fly over a few fields full of tractors. Although they don't appear in Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure, their mooing can be heard at one point in the first Cars level Fancy Drivin' when the player drives through a field with Mater and Sheriff.
