Damp seal paint or also known as anti damp paint is used on walls and surfaces that have been affected by the build up of moisture. The build up of moisture can cause the damp to spread through interior walls leaving water stains and streaks to can be unappealing to the eye.

This can vary from brand to brand. Some can dry in as little as 2-3 hours and be ready to paint or paper over in approximately 4 hours. The one coat paint should do as it says on the tin (one coat should be enough), but in certain cases you might prefer to apply an additional coat. How Do You Seal Damp Before Painting? Rising damp is more than just a touch of mildew or mould, it’s indicative of an underlying condition that will reoccur unless moisture is prevented from rising and entering the walls.
