When the Maximals located the Predacons' genetics lab, Waspinator was present along with Megatron and Tarantulas to fend them off. The general consensus is that this type of product won’t work if there’s already a nest nearby. The wasps will treat this product as a nest inside their territory and will behave as usual. When Rhinox had his personality program converted to that of a Predacon, he started surreptitiously taking out the various Predacons. He swung a cargo crate into Waspinator, giving him a concussion. This dementia was apparently reversed when Cheetor later got annoyed at his yammering and shot him down. One of Waspinator's stray shots subsequently hit the Transmuter, causing it to explode.
