Did you read Faking Perfect? What did you think about it? If not, are you planning to read it? Feel free to share your thoughts in comments! Lexi is a dynamic character who may seem like a tough girl but she’s got a lots of weakness too. She’s got a crush on her best friend named Ben who is the most popular guy in school and she was afraid he would hate her, if he got the tale of her real life. so, she always fake’s perfection in front of him and everybody else in school, so maybe someday he might take an interest in her.Her situation gets more complicated when Tyler began to show interest in her which was totally against the rules she made for the deal. The only thing that I didn’t liked in Lexi was, is her faking perfection so she could attract a guy that’s totally ridiculous why bother if he likes your fake personality.I think the title suits the story better and the plot is somewhat predictable but still I liked reading it. As for her parents, they were portrayed extremely unrealistically which you would understand once you start reading it. The book is nice but it did not touch my heart. One can read if one is looking for a short simple book. I did not hate it but did not love it either so a 3/5 stars.

Marquez said "All human beings have three lives-public, private and secret." and I think he was right, we all live three lives, we are different person when we are with our friends, different person when we are with our family and different person when we are alone. What would you do if you suddenly had to impersonate your more successful identical twin sister? Fake it till you make it... or till you get caught out! We see Lexi really start to face some of her issues at school, with her mom and dad and with Tyler and Ben (her crush forever). All of this leads to some realizations for her and definitely some growth. The plot not only focuses in romance but a large amount in family relationships too. Lexi has a hard-life after her drug addict father abandoned her and her mother. But she didn’t know that her mother lied about so many things related to her father who was still alive out there.I felt sympathetic towards her situation and I totally hated Lexi’s mother here, not only she wasn’t a good mother to her and the way she treats her is unacceptable too.At start I didn’t liked Lexi too who faked herself to get the attention of a guy I can understand she has gone through a hard life and her life isn’t perfect but still, she doesn’t need to build a fake personality of herself. Anyways, as the plot goes further I’ve started to like her more.

And so we have Ella swapping places with her sister as Emma has to let's say go away for a few weeks, but doesn't want her reputation ruined. Almost no one even knows she has a twin, and Ella barely knows her niece and has never met her 9 year old nephew, so even her kids won't be any the wiser. Because inside of her she was far from perfect... She was even sleeping secretly for six months with Tyler, the boy with the bad reputation, but she had put him some rules, rules that lately Tyler didn't seem to follow and that irritated Lexi. She was just using him for an outlet, but lately Tyler asked for more... Jughead's grandfather could also have something to do with the plot too, considering he was one of the previous Baxter Brothers ghostwriters. OG Forsythe Jones will be introduced in the mid-season finale. Coincidentally, that's when show-runner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has hinted that we'll learn more about what happened during the Spring Break flash forward in that episode. Reading it in January proved to be an added bonus! The story begins in the New Year, so this is perfect for readers starting 2021. Apart from this, I think it would make a great holiday read because it is straight-forward to follow and with only one narrative perspective. I think maybe I would have liked to read more about Marco or the other supporting characters, but I guess this is a story that needs us to focus on Ella’s change. I love a good contemporary romance, and I guess that’s what made me request this book on NetGalley in the first place. However, I have to say, I was disappointed.

I really enjoyed the character of Tyler. I was really rooting for his "relationship" with Lexi to work out. I also really enjoyed Lexi's friendship with Nolan. Lexi feels like she should hold up the image of a 'perfect' girl, to put up a front and hide the fact that her mother is an irresponsible alcoholic and that her drug addict father abandoned them when she was just a little girl. She has the school bad boy sneaking in through her bedroom window at night, has friends who judge and shun her childhood friend Nolan (the only one who knows everything about her) and she harbours an unrequited love on her picture-perfect friend Ben. The concept of everything teetering precariously was very prominent throughout this book, and the tension remained at a level that made me eager to continue reading. Faking Perfect is the story of Lexi, a girl with a pretty crap home life who thinks that the answer to all her problems is to try and fit in with the popular crowd. Unfortunately for her shiny image, she also has a weakness for bad boys and when she seduces resident tattoo-sporting, weed-dealing miscreant, Tyler Flynn, at the beginning of her senior year and carries on a secret relationship with him, she makes him avoid her at school, keep her secret and never ever tease her about her crush on her friend and local golden boy, Ben. Yes, what the book actually tell you about Tyler is, he is a bad guy, he sells drugs in parties and stuff, he drink a lot, he is a man-whore and all the bad stuff you can think. And that he falls in love with Lexi :D The book is entertaining, uplifting, funny and tender at the same time, It is a perfect rom-com. If you are not a fan of this fabulous author, you are going to be after reading it! Highly recommended.

The main character was a typical Portia McIntosh’s heroine – cool, strong – headed, independent and who doesn’t give a shit about what others think about her. And I liked her for being like this and jumping into her sister’s shoes even though the relationship between them was not so perfect. The way she tried to find herself as a suddenly wife and mum was hilarious and her interactions with the children were brilliant. As well as with the Yummy Mummy Mafia, oh god, what an apt description it is for this. I think she has never lost her true identity, her true self, and I really admired this in her. Although I wasn’t so sure about Ella at the very beginning, to be very honest. I mean, she was a total mess, right, losing an apartment, job and car in a single day and actually not bothering about this so much. I am not sure what would happen with Ella is Emma hasn’t asked her fort his huge favour. But I also liked how she stayed true to herself. She gave her best in trying to be Emma, for the love of her sister and her family, but there were moments that she couldn’t help acting like herself which only added lots of humour to the story and made Ella even more authentic in my eyes. Lexi was a really great MC; fun and mixed-up and sarky in equal measures and I really enjoyed her narrative. She was totally flawed but really likeable too and I liked the way she developed over the course of the book. She was so relatable in the way she felt so much pressure to conform to being the image her friends wanted of her and how she thought
