About this deal

EDIT: The firmware released on 11/28/22 seems to have resolved the issue with certain Samsung devices. As promised, upgraded to 5 stars! Fronthaul is the Wi-Fi signals broadcast outward for clients or the network ports for wired devices. It’s what we generally expect from a Wi-Fi broadcaster.

My question. The AC-1304 works over 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz (802.11ac), and considering that upgrading to a Wifi6/6E system would still heavily serve devices running on 802.11ac, would the newer hardware could (potentially) help with such problem? I wonder if a more recent system has better software/firmware functionality to better handle 802.11ac (Especially considering that the Asus ET12, TP-L XT75, or even Ubiquiti/Amplifi have more processing power). This mesh kit consists of two fairly large nodes at 4.5 inches wide and 9.5 inches tall. The top few inches is an acrylic housing for eight external antennas. Four antennas at the corners stand straight up, while the other four are at 45-degree angles. This should ensure good coverage in multi-story homes, as well as on the same level as the router itself. With 10 total antennas listed, it's safe to assume ASUS has put the 2.4GHz antennas inside the main housing. This also has Wi-Fi 6e, which the adtran does not have, so my devices that are capable of using 6e, which I have 4 of, can take advantage of the significant speed increase that delivers. If I were to upgrade my routers to a multi-gig wired setup, could I run both units from a pair of ET12s in AP mode and combine them with, say, a GT-AX6000 in router mode? I realise the combo wouldn’t play nice in AIMesh, but I don’t need 6GHz support at the router location (nice-to-have at AP locations though!) and prefer manual control over channel numbers. On the other hand, as a Wi-Fi 6E device, the Zen Wi-Fi Pro ET12 has a 2.4GHz band, a 5GHz band, and a 6GHz band. Each Asus ZenWiFi Pro ET12 comes with four network ports on one of its sides, including two 2.5Gbps Multi-Gig ports. For the testing, I used the hardware both as a standalone router and a mesh system, and, in the latter case, both with wireless and wired configurations.

A Wi-Fi connection between two direct parties occurs in a single band, using one fixed channel, at any given time. This principle applies to all existing Wi-Fi standards, up to Wi-Fi 6E. As a WiFi 6E router, the ZenWiFi Pro ET12 offers all the congestion-alleviating technologies of WiFi 6 with access to the wide-open spectrum of the 6GHz band as the cherry on top. To open a new frontier of wireless networking, the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted access to the 6GHz band. Because the congestion-management and latency-reducing features of WiFi 6 are mandatory for devices compatible with this spectrum, they’ll enjoy low interference and top-end performance when they’re connected to a network managed by the ET12. The Scottish duo were unable to clinch qualification for Gibraltar, although their compatriot John Henderson stormed through with a whitewash win over Lewis in his ETQ13 decider. My tablet and phone are on the same version of Android and are running the latest version available. While there may be a hardware difference in the radios, it's not one that other vendors appear to be incompatible with. From all of my reading, it seems that not considering the price, all of these systems would perform better than my current setup…and be somewhat future proof for few years. But I can’t figure out if these new systems can handle Wifi5 better. I think I am suffering from a severe case of too much information! 🙂 On 6GHZ, speeds were generally high and in line with some of the best mesh systems I’ve tested in this location, such as the remarkable Orbi RKBE963 system. If you’re looking for 6GHz Wi-Fi to transform your Wi-Fi experience, it’s not so straightforward.
