About this deal

Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or just dipping your toes into this world, I invite you to join me as we explore the fascinating realm of these legendary spirits.

However, while Patron prides itself on offering an authentic taste without additives, El Alto falls short in delivering a premium experience. El Alto appears to be Patron’s attempt to compete with the likes of Don Julio 1942 and Clase Azul Reposado.

MICHTER'S, THE WORLD'S MOST ADMIRED WHISKEY, RELEASES 25-YEAR BOURBON

Tequila used to be made with something called the ancient Tahona process, wherein heartless tequila distillers force a donkey to drag a massive volcanic stone over agave hearts prior to cooking and distilling them. (We assume that donkey hates his life.) Patrón still goes old-school, although they give the donkeys a break and use machinery to drag massive, specially sculpted stones across their agave hearts, yielding a unique vegetal taste that they then mix with a portion of citrusy tequila made with the modern Roller Mill method. You have one guy to thank for that smooth, smooth balance. Flavour: Sweet and soft on the palate with rich, smooth notes of stone fruit and a refreshingly bright finish. Once opened, it remains good, but it’s recommended to finish the bottle once it reaches 25% to prevent a change in taste. Does it have sugar?

Cristalino tequilas continue to see significant growth as tequila enthusiasts seek premium offerings with unique finishing and ageing features,” said Alex Coronado, Head of Production and Master Distiller for Reserva de la Familia. “Reserva de la Familia Añejo Cristalino Organico embodies everything that makes Cristalino tequilas so dynamic. The handcrafted production process paired with the unique finish from Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks makes for a remarkable tequila that is ideally suited for tequila aficionados seeking a luxury sipping experience.” Tequila hasn’t claimed the crown of best-selling spirit in America just yet — only vodka now stands in its way on that front — but Mexico’s famous agave distillate has firmly established itself as a staple of stateside drinking culture.

Utilizes a variety of 11 barrel types, primarily hybrid barrels with American oak bodies and French oak heads. PATRÓN is made from only the finest, highest-quality Weber Blue Agave, which gives it its characteristic smoothness and layers of flavor. The agave is stripped to reveal the heart of the plant, the ‘piña’, which is then hand-chopped, baked and crushed by a two-ton volcanic stone Tahona wheel and a roller mill. The resulting mixture is fermented for three days, distilled and, in some cases, aged in handmade barrels. Two months at minimum for PATRÓN Reposado, over 12 months for PATRÓN Añejo, and at least three years for PATRÓN Extra Añejo. It’s no secret that we have a steadfast commitment to crafting the world’s finest tequila, but we’re just as dedicated to taking care of the resources and people that make it possible. At PATRÓN, we’ve always been committed to doing our part to preserve the environment and support our people and the community in our birthplace and hometown of Atotonilco el Alto in Jalisco, Mexico. A wedge or squeeze of lime is a must when it comes to tequila, and this liquor has a plethora of mixers, including club soda, seltzer, grapefruit juice, coconut water, and other sodas, including ginger, coke, and lemon-lime. Agave, unlike a grape or wheat crop, takes closer to a decade to properly mature. That means the soil and growing conditions have more impact on the final product than fermentation, distillation and aging combined. The growing region of Los Altos is situated 6,900 feet above sea level and has mineral rich volcanic soil—ideal for growing flavorful agave. As interest in tequila spikes, conversations surrounding production techniques and ingredients are also gaining importance. Bottles made with additives and/or using corner-cutting equipment simply don’t cut it among modern-day bartenders and agave aficionados.
