What: We love Chococo’s handmade chocolates, and the Dorset chocolatiers really outdo themselves at Easter with a huge range of great eggs. This milk chocolate number is made from their signature 47% Colombian milk chocolate, and 5% of every sale goes towards the Ocean Giants conservation programme.
What: Another beloved Swiss chocolatier, Laderach is best known for slabs of nuttyFrischSchoggi, which is also available in bunny shapes this Easter. If you're keeping things a bit more classic, go for this handsome Easter Bunny in Laderach's delicious milk chocolate (but also available in lots of other flavours and combos). What: Happi’s oat milk chocolate is one of the better vegan and free-from options we’ve come across, and they do multiple flavours including salted caramel and chocolate orange. There are lots of different eggs on offer but we’d keep it classic with this smooth milk chocolate number. What: Venchi is the last word in luxury Italian chocolate, so who better to turn to when you want the best of the best? This incredible white chocolate egg is hiding a little surprise inside - a layer of Piedmontese hazelnuts, pistachios and lightly salted almonds. What: Brand new this year, Dorset chocolatiers Chococo have a quality vegan Easter egg on offer too, made using oat milk and 43% Colombia origin chocolate. Each egg was assessed first and foremost on taste, and while the markers of quality were slightly different for each category of chocolate, we were looking for a balanced sweetness, melt in the mouth, rich flavour and creaminess across all categories. Beyond these foundations, we looked for a good ‘snap’, and for flavoured eggs we considered the quality - did it taste natural or synthetic - and how distinctive the flavour.
