About this deal

These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone. Maggie is thirty-six, recently divorced and embarrassingly unemployed. With a bank account nearing zero she does the only thing she can think of: make a business proposition to her gorgeous and successful estranged mother. My thoughts: It took this book 3 chapters to get interesting. I was honestly thinking it was just going to be okay, but somewhere near the middle, it became really good. I was annoyed that they kept mentioning characters reading books but not giving titles. They do tell you what the book club is reading but don't share any titles they considered. I looked it up and 2 species of magnolia trees have been naturalized in Massachusetts, so I guess there could be an island named Magnolia in Rhode Island. When I see magnolia I think of southern cities so it threw me off a little. I plan on reading the rest of this series very soon, I don't want a disconnect like I currently have with the Beachside Inn/Marigold Island series. My ex-husband left me for my best friend. I’m 36, unemployed, and about to be evicted. My only option is to ask my estranged mother for help. She offers me a deal: fix up the run down family inn on the small island of Magnolia and any of the proceeds I can make off the sale, will be mine to invest. When she inherits half an inn badly in need or repair. Jolene Broussard is equal parts thrilled and daunted. When she discovers that her original partner, the loathsome Ruben , has sold his half to someone else, Jolene's day brighten somewhat. But what if the new half owner is as bad as her cousin-by-marriage would have been? Jolene's got a lot of baggage in the love department and she's not exactly the most trusting of souls.

He turns up the inn looking for the part owner he meets Jolene & there is a sudden attraction to each other Jolene has demons of her own & doesn't want to get involved with an alcoholic as her mother Elaine was a drug addict & alcoholic plus her ex boyfriend was a drinker too. Maggie had recently divorced, had no job, and was running out of money. She needed to get out of New York but where should she go. As a last resort, she approached her estranged mother to ask for help to start her own business. Her mother, Penny, agreed to a deal. If Maggie would refurbish and decorate her grandmother's former home to prepare it to be sold, Penny would share the profits with Maggie. Maggie had skill as an interior designer and because it got her out of New York and provided possibilities for her future, she agreed. The local airport, Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport, is a 15-minute drive away, and Tocumen International Airport is a 30-minute drive from the property. Content: Clean. Some talk of divorce, death of a child, a parent with Alzheimers and some kissing but nothing further.

Save time, save money!

In the historic district, many restaurants are within walking distance of the Magnolia Inn. Guest can find grocery stores just over a quarter mile from the property. The Magnolia Inn by Carolyn Brown is a romance that takes place in the East Texas town of Jefferson, which is home to many B&B’s and antique stores. If you like the Hallmark Channel or romance novels in general, then you will probably enjoy this book. This story is pure fluff. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It grabbed my interest from the beginning and held it until the end. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. This romance follows the typical plotline of two tortured souls who are tossed together, then fall in love. Jolene Boussard is given the gift of one-half of a B&B just outside Jefferson, TX from her Aunt Sugar and Uncle Jasper. The Magnolia Inn is outdated but could be profitable after an update. Jolene is tormented with the emotional effect of her father’s death when she was 16. Afterward, her mother fell into drugs and alcohol and died in a two-bit motel. Her last boyfriend also turned out to be an alcoholic. Jolene, who is a teetotaler, has worked full-time as a bartender for the ten years leading up to her being given the interest in the Magnolia Inn. She doesn't have the personal funds to restore the inn.

The penthouse suite has modern décor with minimalist-style furniture. The private bathroom has a shower. It also includes a mini fridge, a coffee maker, a flat-screen cable TV, and air conditioning. What starts out as an act of desperation, soon becomes exactly what the women of Magnolia island were looking for, a sisterhood. Hi! I'm twenty five years old and movie star gorgeous. The camera added thirty plus years and a few wrinkles. Can't trust those cameras or mirrors either. Along with bathroom scales they are notorious liars! Honestly, I am the mother of three fantastic grown children who've made me laugh and given me more story ideas than I could ever write. My husband, Charles, is my strongest supporter and my best friend. He's even willing to eat fast food and help with the laundry while I finish one more chapter! Life is good and I am blessed!Sugar and her husband are ready to retire and travel across country, so they leave half of the B&B to Jolene and half to her cousin Rueben. Sugar has big plans, but no money. Rueben hates his memories of the B&B and decides to sell. Magnolia Inn is in a refurbished French-style colonial manor in Panama City’s Old Town. It has terraces, a shared dining room and a common kitchen.

The hardest part of falling in love with the small town of Magnolia and my grumpy handyman is knowing at some point, I'm going to have to sell the inn and leave. Jolene Broussard found out that her aunt Sugar was going to give her half of her bed and breakfast, the Magnolia Inn. As excited as Jolene wanted to be she knew she was dead broke and that the inn was going to take a lot of work to get into shape and her cousin Ruben who now owns the other half was the last person she waned to go into business with. Good slow-building romance between two hurting people who can't seem to let go of their painful pasts. Jolene was raised by a mother who was an alcoholic and a drug addict, making Jolene the "adult" in the family. After Jolene grew up and moved out, her mom died of an overdose, leaving Jolene feeling guilty for deserting her. Then Jolene's boyfriend also turned out to be an alcoholic who cleaned out her bank accounts. She needed a chance for a fresh start.
