About this deal

The publicity that followed the murder turned Catherine's funeral into an event. Thousands joined the procession, which included a wagon for relatives and a wagon for the press. Hands Of The Ripper is one of the strongest films ever released by Hammer if you’re judging it on it’s violence. Anna slashes throats, impales bodies and stabs eyes out of heads with a vigor rarely seen by an actress in a horror film from any studio. The beautiful Rees gives Anna a near childlike quality (When she’s not murdering anyone) that makes her eventual fate all the more tragic. Her eyes glaze over most convincingly as she hears her father’s voice urging her to kill again & again & again! Porter, who appeared in one of my favorite Hammer films of all time (“The Lost Continent” 1968) gives an extremely measured performance as Dr. Pritchard in which the relationship between himself and Anna begins as a professional one (He’s just heard of a doctor named Freud (!) who’s done some groundbreaking work on the human psyche) but the lines begin to fade etween the two of them as the film continues with Pritchard actually enabling Anna in her murderous ways by not admitting to the police that she’s the killer. Firstly many thanks to GR, the author and the publisher for my free copy of this book. It arrived in my mailbox in truly record time!

Meanwhile Pritchard’s son Michael (Keith Bell) is anxiouslkt awaiting the arrival of his fiance Laura (Jane Merrow) so that they can be married. Laura is blind but hardly incapable of taking care of herself and the couple plan to be married a few days after her arrival. Michael seems a bit puzzled as to why his father has taken in Anna but as he’s far too busy getting ready for his wedding he hasn’t the time to properly vet both his dad and Anna’s relationship. Initially Anna charms everyone she comes across with her winsome smile & gratitude but Anna keeps getting triggered to kill by some innocent gesture or bright light that reminds her of the night her dad murdered her mother. And when that happens, people die!

She then lay on the cold pavement and fell asleep, was roused by the police and arrested for drunkenness. Visiting a medium with some friends, psychoanalyses Dr. John Pritchard discovers that the sounds of the "spirits" have actually been made by a girl called Anna, who was hidden away from view.Leaving with the group,Pitchard notices an MP enter the building, and pay to have sex with Anna,in what Pitchard realises is a secret brothel.Waiting round for his carriage (as you do!) Pitchard hears a blood curdling scream.Rushing in,Pitchard is horrified to find that Anna has brutally killed the medium.

Thomas was far from a raw boned, loutish factory worker. He had an artistic bent and added to the family coffers by writing music hall songs. Demand for his song sheets grew steadily. Since the two above-mentioned murders [Stride and Eddowes] no fewer than 1,400 letters relating to the tragedies have been received by the police, and although the greater portion of these gratuitous communications were found to be of a trivial and even ridiculous character, still each one was thoroughly investigated.” The sceptic-who-is-proved-wrong is a familiar figure in horror films. As soon as we hear the words "I don't believe in ghosts/witches/vampires/whatever" we know that retribution is lurking just around the corner. In some films this retribution will take no more serious form than the humiliation of being forced to eat one's words, but in others the forces of the supernatural will take bloody revenge on those who wrong them by doubting their existence. For those in the know, of course, it’s an oddity alongside more tongue-in-cheek fare they were becoming known for at this time. By about 12:15 a.m., Eddowes was awake and singing in the station. Before long, she began complaining about being detained, lamenting that she’d be in trouble when she got home. That same evening around 8:30 p.m., a police officer named Louis Robinson encountered a crowd of people hovering over a woman who was lying drunk on the ground. That woman was Catherine Eddowes, who had parted ways with Kelly just hours earlier. Robinson took Eddowes to Bishopsgate Police Station and detained her as she slept off her intoxication. Things get worse for the poor sap when he gets stabbed through the kidneys with a ceremonial sword (although in typically British "stiff upper lipped" style, he manages to put on a brave front for the servants), and as he follows Anna to her date with destiny in the whispering gallery at St Paul's Cathederal, you can't help feeling a bit sorry for him. In answer to questions, he stated that the last time he saw her – referring to her as Kate – was on Saturday afternoon. He left her, believing that she would return to him at the lodging house in Flower and Dean Street. Disney Villain Death: Anna throws herself off a high balcony to stop her split personality from killing anymore.
